  • How do you say/write "I want to see cherry blossoms" in Japanese?

In a casual way - if there's are different ways of saying it. And please give me the kanji/kana, not Roman letters, thanks!

  • What should I do if the lender keeps delaying my mortgage refinance process?

I applied for a home refinance because of the recent low interest rate. The loan company locked in the rate about a month ago for 30 days and promised to finish everything up within 30 days. However, as the process goes on, they keep sending me applications and ask me for information that they should've asked me to submit at the beginning. I asked them what they needed from me so that I could prepare everything right away, but each time they'd tell me "That's all." Now they keep coming back to ask for more stuff, which is delaying the process by A LOT.

Now the appraisal has been done, applications were submitted and escrow was signed and I've paid them. Yesterday they emailed me again with more applications to fill out! And they told me "Just sign it but don't date it!" Which I don't feel comfortable doing. I feel that they're gonna keep asking me for more application materials nonstop, but they never explain to me why except saying "We need this to proceed." What are my options? Can I switch out and just drop the refinance? I am really frustrated by now.

  • Can landlord (apartment building office) change their mind after taking a holding security deposit?

We applied for a unit at an apartment complex and paid the "holding fee" as a deposit to hold the unit (In Massachusetts). After all application paperwork went through, the office people were getting the lease ready and told us to come back in a few days to sign the lease. We never signed the lease yet. Just 4 days before the lease would start we called to confirm the exact address and they said "Oh you no longer have that unit because of maintenance issues." They didn't apologize and refused to tell us what was wrong with the original apartment unit and wouldn't say when it would be fixed. They didn't offer a refund back of the application fees or deposit fees. However, they did offer another vacant unit, but the unit they were trying to give us is expensive and non livable due to constant machine noise issues. We suspect that they rented the original unit out to another tenant, because when we walked around the unit, lights were on and there were people in there at night. Now we are about to have no place to live. Do we have any legal rights at this point?

    Thanks for any advice!!

  • What does "temporary living expenses" include when I relocate for a new job?

I just got my first real job after grad school and am very excited to move. They provide generous relocation assistance which includes lease cancellation and temporary living up to 30 days. It works out because my apartment lease is ending in a few days. Does that mean that before I move, I can stay at a hotel for 30 days? It sounds right but I'm just worried that it would be too expensive. Would I have to pay any tax on the reimbursement?

  • How do you take money out of a balanced fund?

I'm new to investing and am interested in a balanced fund through a broker (Vanguard). How does it work? Is it like a bank account where I could take the available fund out any time I want, or would I have to pay any kinds of fees in order to take money out? I know there are broker fees, but other than that, what else do I need to know?

  • Should I reschedule my wisdom teeth appointment if I am sick?

I have an appointment today to remove my wisdom teeth, but I woke up this morning with very sore throat and stuffy nose. I want to reschedule because I also feel very tired, and going to the surgery might not be a good idea. But, my dental office is very stingy and has a 24 hour appointment cancelation policy. What should I tell them so that they don't give me a hard time and charge me for postponing the procedure ?

  • How should I word this sentence on an internship cover letter?

"...The internship is only three-month long; however, the unique opportunity of being there in both the summers of 2011 and 2012 is attractive to me, as I believe that one can get the best experience when she gets to know the culture and people."

This is what I have so far, but the last sentence seems too weird. I am trying to explain why I think their opportunity is unique, and I can learn most if I stay there both summers.

    Any advice will be appreciated!

  • Is it normal for my jaw to hurt after teeth deep cleaning?

I had my first session of a deep cleaning done with a dental hygenist. She used anesthesia locally, and my half face was numb. Now my teeth do not hurt but my jaw is painful........ I cannot open my mouth. I cannot eat normally because of that. I am scared but was wondering if this is normal? How long should the pain last if it is? Only the half that was cleaned is hurting. The other half is completley normal, so it should not be because my mouth was open for a long time.

And, what should be the cause of the pain? I mean they just injected anesthesia and used the thing to scrape my teeth. Why would my jaw joint/nervous be hurting? My teeth are healthy otherwise.

    Thanks for any advice!

  • Is it dangerous when I plug in my laptop and sparks appear?

When I plug in my laptop (macbook) plug onto the wall, there are often sparks at the plug. Is that dangerous? My computer has the polarized plug, not the 3-hole plug.

  • Why don't home owners sell the house as a regular sale before foreclosure has to come?

Aren't they allowed to sell the house by themselves as a regular sale, before they cannot make payments to the bank, instead of giving the house to the bank and go bankrupcy? Are there any requirements to homeowners about when can they sell the house after buying it?

  • How long do you have to live in your house before selling it?

Is there a limit or shortest time before you can sell your house, if you have a mortgage? I live in California.

  • Is it legal in California that landlord accepts cash only?

I am renting a room from a lady's house, and it is month-to-month. She made me sign a very long roommate agreement, and rent is due on the 1st of the month, she did not specify what method I should use to pay her. Then tonight she told me that (I was talking on the phone with her because I am moving in tomorrow) I have to pay CASH ONLY to her whenever paying my rent. She also said that her bank charges $6 for depositing personal checks (I know she is lying becuz no bank in CA does that!!!) Is this legal? She sounded very demanding on the phone. I almost don't want to live there anymore. But if I don't, she's gonna take my deposit.

  • What would happen to your home mortgage loan in this case?

Say if me and a co-buyer buy a home together (both first-time home buyers), and get a conventional loan from a bank. If later, one of us wants to take our name down the title, would that be allowed? Would the bank re-acess the other person's credit and issue a new loan to them? What would happen if that person's credit is not enough to pay for the whole house?

  • What is considered "owner occupied?"?

When a mortgage company (lender) asks you whether you will live in the newly bought house or not- what does it mean exactly? If I plan on living there, when would I have to move in, and how long would I have to live there? Is there a law or requirement ? ( I plan on living there but I might go to graduate school next year in another state!)

  • How does the $8,000 tax credit for first time home buyers work?

Me and a co-buyer are buying a house together (both first time buyers). What would the $8,000 tax credit mean to us? If the house is $220000, but the tax we paid this year, added together, is less than $8,000, will we still get the full $8,000? The new house will not be my primary residence but will be my co-buyers.

Anyway, right now we are deciding whether to use FHA or conventional loan (We have the available 20% for downpayment). Would that make a difference on the tax credit that we receive?

  • Can I get a conventional mortgage loan if I don't plan on living in the house?

I know that if you won't be living in a newly bought house, you should tell them that when applying for a loan. Here is my situation: Me and a co-buyer are buying a house that I don't plan on living in, but my co-buyer does. We applied for a conventional loan but didn't get approved, because the lenders said that since I live in another city, and my income is the higher one, they could only give me an FHA or investor's loan (which has a higher interest rate and requires 25-30% down).

However, at Bank of America, they approved our conventional loan. My question is, is it legal? I mean other lenders wouldn't approve it because the house won't be my primary residence. So I'm wondering if it is a legal thing or is it just that lenders don't LIKE to approve people like me. If BoA does it assuming that I'm going to live there, then I don't wanna be legally responsible.

  • A guy broke into my apartment through my roommate's window at midnight.?

A guy broke into my apartment int he middle of the night, when we were about to sleep. Me and my roommate got so scared and were about to call the police, then that guy jumped in, and said that he was an ex-bf of my other roommate's (who was not home and was unaware of this incident). Our window was broken by that guy, because he came in through the window, so we still called the police. One cop came in but he didn't say anything. He just made it sound like we shouldn't have called, as long as that dude didn't steal anything from us. Is there anything that we could do to stop him from doing it again? That guy, who broke into my house, didn't apologize at all. The cop obviously didn't care, and didn't even want his name. But I'm worried that the roommate (the ex-gf, who 100% is defending him) also does not care about our safety at all. We asked her to move out, but she refused. (3 people (all girls) in our apartment)
