I have a 10 year old daughter that I adopted in 07 after being her foster parent for 2 years [basically I have had her since she was 6] NOW the problem is that every year it is the same thing, she doesn't do school work or if she does its poor work, D's and F's..but yet when she is tested she tests bright and at the very top of the district. NOW I would say she might be bored but she acts like she is lost most of the time. She is pretending I know...now we have called her bluff again this year, but she still insists on hiding the papers that have bad grades, looses privileges, I am so tired of talking to her I just want to run away! Last year they said we put too much pressure on her so we didn't require her to bring home passing grades, just told her she gets to control her grades but we control the consequence...that blew up in a hurry! she loves being grounded so she can sit in her room even if we have taken everything she owns away!

AH I am so frustrated...do I turn her back over to the adoption agency? I have a special needs child and he gets very upset when she gets in trouble...so NOW what????? any advice...tried ADHD meds, didn't work by the way [6 months worth] tried counseling [1 year didn't work..she just sat and stared at the therapist] she lies, cheats, deceives anyway she can...I am so frustrated I don't know what to do...it has broken our family apart! my husband of 28 years now wants a divorce! We raised two other children that ended up totally normal! One is a director of finance for a large firm and the other is a police officer! so I know our parenting methods must of been ok for my oldest two....any suggestions?????? HELP! Frustrated....Scared!!! Ready to quit pulling my hair out!

I already have beach trips, museum trips and park picnics planned....but I am looking for some more creative things we live in california.....so what do you do with your kids?

Our adoption is almost final for our son, we want to have an Adoption party...any ideas? He is 11 [almost 12] and special needs...We are sending announcements for his adoption and we want to have a party...what should I do...I have a big yard and pool....or should we have something at a pizza place or what kinds of ideas do you have?
