  • What NOT To Miss In Atlanta?

We're going to Atlanta this weekend, and my husband will be going to Dragon Con. My DD, mom, and I will be visiting Atlanta while he's there, and we're hitting American Girl, but what other things should we NOT miss? My mom is fun, and my DD is 8 1/2, so we need fun stuff for all three of us!

  • Hotel Advice for FAMILY in Atlanta Labor Day Weekend?

My husband is going to Dragon Con in Atlanta Labor Day weekend, and my 8 year old daughter and I are going as well, but not to the convention. We reserved the Wyndham Garden Hotel Downtown as it was one of the convention hotels, but I've done some research and am not sure if that's a safe location for my daughter and I to basically come and go alone by ourselves. We'll only have one car, so I thought staying at one of the "official" hotels was the way to go (DD and I plan to go to American Girl Place, etc, so he can take the shuttle to the convention, and DD and I will have my SUV). Should I change hotels to someplace more family friendly, and if so, should I drop him off downtown each day, or stay somewhere on the Marta route and let him take it into town? Help! I want somewhere nice and safe for us, but I want the transportation issues to work out as well. Any suggestions would be wonderful!

  • My PC is stuck at the "boot from CD Drive" at Startup HELP!?

I can't even get it started, we're on a black screen at the beginning of startup, and you can HEAR it trying to access the CD drive, in which there is nothing BTW. When I came in earlier, it told me it had to shut down because of an error, and to restart. I did, and now I got through "PCI Device Listing"... Updating ESCD... Success, Verifying DMI Pool Data.... then "Boot from CD:" at which I am stuck. I am running XP, and ANY help would be great!

  • Infection after ear piercing- AGAIN!?

My daughter got her ears pierced at Claire's when she was 5. All was well until we tried to change them after 6 months, when they got infected and she refused to let us put her "starters" back in. They closed up, so we let it go. She's 8 now and a few months ago we had them redone. She was totally fine with her starters, then we moved to very lightweight EXPENSIVE gold earrings, and ONE ear developed a big knot, full of infection and gunk. We switched back to the starters (white gold over sterling), for a few weeks, then changed to another paid, also white gold over sterling, and the knot is back! HELP! Should we just let them close up and forget it? It's so frustrating, she loves her ears pierced, but to me it's just not worth the pain and aggravation for her or my husband and I. I am worried she'll develop an infection that could be harmful to her beyond her earlobes. Any advice or experience with chronically infected ear piercings? So you know, the doctors here do NOT pierce ears!

  • Color/Shape Puzzle Help! 2nd grade and 34 yr old mom can't do it!?

OH MY! I have worked on this with my daughter for 2 hours. There is a 4 square by 4 square pattern (16 squares in all). The colors and shapes are as follows: Triangle, Rectangle, Square, Circle. Red, Blue, Green, Yellow.

Already in place going down the left side are:

    1) green trianle

    2) red rectangle

    3) blue square

    4) yellow circle

NOW you have to take the rest of the colors/shapes and have one of each color and each shape in each row, going up and down AND side to side! HELP! If it makes it easier, here's kind of a "diagram"

  • Would "house" be considered a PLACE or a THING?

We're talkin second grade nouns here, but I think it goes either way. A house is a thing, but ALSO a place. The answer is place, but I think it's negotiable- teachers out there, let me know!
