I received a letter from a collection agency for a debt that is allegedly from 1989. What recourse do I have?
This apparently relates to a health club membership that I signed up for in 1989 and then cancelled. I never heard from anyone about this issue until now. What is the best way for me to go about disputing this claim so that my credit is not affected?
