  • Somehow moved my Windows XP task bar to the side instead of the bottom of the screen!?

    Hi,

Hope someone can help. Due a momentary slip of my hand I seem to have miraculously moved my Windows XP desktop task menu bar from running along the bottom of my screen to running down the side.

Can someone please tell me - a novice / idiot PC user how to get the task bar back to the bottom of the screen?

    Thank You!!

  • Is there a way to download the latest version of Android software for Samsung Galaxy sII phone?

I was quite jealous when I saw the latest Android software on my friend's Samsung Galaxy SII phone and was wondering if there was a way to download this WITHOUT using Samsung's slow and cumbersome Kies technology? A safe way to download it to the phone that is! Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Alex

  • Are all tap sizes the same?

I am looking to replace my bathroom sink taps. I know NOTHING about DIY and was wondering if all tap (single tap not mixer tap) connections were the same? As I don't think they are, how would I go about measuring the correct spacing for new taps? Thank you very much for any advise you can give!

  • Does anyone know of any good online or distance learning SEO and HTML courses?

I am a freelance proof reader, editor and copywriter but am finding it harder and harder to get work due to my lack of knowledge in the fields of SEO wording and HTML writing. Therefore I am hoping some of you may know of good online or distance learning courses in SEO and basic HTML.

I am a novice at all this, but am a quick learner so any course should do; or should I look for an accredited course - if there is such a thing.

    Thanks in advance, Alex

  • How to properly measure a hob space to fit a new hob?

I currently have an electric hob in my kitchen which I hate cooking on so I am buying a new gas hob.

I was wondering how exactly I measure the hob and the area already cut in to the kitchen worktop so I can have a Gas Safe engineer install the correct size of gas hob.

There is already a gas connection for a gas hob but I am just worried I get the measurements wrong for a new gas hob and it ends up not fitting correctly.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Material that can be used to safely and securely stick mini surround speakers to top of my TV?

    Hi,

I am looking to see if anyone knows of a material which I can purchase in the UK to safely attach small Edifier surround speakers and a small bass unit to the top of my TV.

The speakers are currently placed in front of the TV at the bottom on the TV stand, but I feel I am losing a lot of the sound benefits as they are not at ear level.

The material would need to be adhesive on both sides (to stick to the TV and the speakers) and be able to be removed safely later on as well if possible.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated so I can really hear my TV!

    Thank you, Alex

  • Have a tankard that is engraved, but can it be engraved over again as it is quite faint?

My friend kindly got me an engraved drinking tankard for my 40th. However, the engraving is very faint and I was wondering if anyone knew before I take it back to the engravers, or to a different engraver, if the engraving can be done over again to create a deeper, clearer look? Thanks in advance, Alex

  • Good drops or gels or natural solutions for dry eye?

I have recently developed dry eye, which is irritating at best, painful and depressing at worst times, and was wondering if anyone had any natural tips to lessen the symptoms and / or recommend the best kind of drops or gel to ease the pain? I am currently using Blink but have heard there are better off the shelf solutions for dry eye. Thanks !

  • How do I turn off sticky keys on my Windows XP desktop computer?

Hi! I accidentally turned on the pointless and annoying (to me) sticky keys function on my PC by I think pressing the Shift key too often. I know I can turn Sticky Keys off manually each time I turn on the PC but was hoping someone could offer a quick and final solution to turning sticky keys off permanently. The PC is a Sony VAIO desktop PCV-W2 with Windows XP. Thanks!

  • Please help with sealing windows against draught problem?

Hi, Hope someone can explain in simple terms the best way to seal my windows against a draught that has been noticed over the past few days.

The windows are double glazed wooden frames. They already seem to have some sort of foam draught excluder between the frame of the actual window and the wooden frame at the side. I think this is supposed to come off but I find it extremely difficult to remove. Therefore, a tip on removing this (if necessary) would be great, as well as the best type of draught excluding material to purchase (UK based).

Any advice, help and tips would be greatly appreciated; I'm sure this draught is why we're always getting colds !!

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex

  • How can I move Vuze from one drive to another?

Does anyone know how I can move Vuze from one drive on my computer to another?

It is currently downloading items into the smaller drive of two on my PC. A friend set it up a few years ago and we no longer are in touch and I am hoping to move the downloading in Vuze to the larger drive so I can download larger files. If anyone can explain in simple, layman, idiot (!) terms how I do this, please do! Thanks.

  • My PC is only displaying windows in a small area of the screen?

When I turned on my PC (a Sony VAIO PCV-W2 desktop) today, windows were only available in a small format in the centre of the PC screen. A large pure black background can be seen around all windows (files, folders and web pages) and I cannot get them to re-format to fit the full screen size of the PC. I am almost 100% PC Stupid so I cannot figure out what I may have done for this to happen, nor do I know how to fix it. Please Help if you can. Thanks, Alex

  • Delete All - how do I select this function using my PC keyboard?

This will probably be the dumbest PC related question of the day but someone please tell me how I select a Delete All function on my PC? What I mean is I have a lot of old photos I want to delete but rather than doing so one by one, I would like to Select the first photo and the last photo and delete ALL photos in between!

I know there is a way to do this as I saw a friend do it once but never took in the keys on the keyboard to use!

    Thanks

  • Does anyone know how to delete "temporary" files from my comptuer?

    Hi everyone!

I have an older but wonderful Sony VAIO PCV-W2 desktop and quite often I get a Windows message saying my "computer is running low on virtual memory".

Does anyone know how this can be rectified? Is it anything to do with a lot of files I have in some temporary folders that I cannot seem to delete?

I'm an intermediate PC user at best so any help - in simple terms - would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!
