  • Can someone help me locate some long lost friends from Germany?

My dad was stationed in Germany during Vietnam era and we are trying to find some friends of his as we are going on vacation there in May of next year. I've located the german phone book but was wondering if someone either that lives in germany or is from there and knows of another way to find people from there might be able to help? I can give some names and approximate ages. I have quite a few names of people in the same family. I know that they are from Nurmberg, Germany but don't know if they have moved or not since then as this was more than 30 years ago since my dad last saw them. Please let me know!

  • I need some help from someone who knows about buying and selling cars and title registration taxes.?

I bought a 2005 ford escape last year for $1000 dollars because the engine was blown and the owner of the vehicle could not afford to get it fixed. Now the state tax department has sent me letters wanting to know why I got the car so cheap when the value of the car is around $6500 in Kelly blue book. I responded back about the engine being blown. Now I've got another letter saying they want me to pay so much in taxes or I could face jail time! So I have a couple of questions I'm hoping somone can answer. Why don't they contact the previous owner of the car and ask them questions on the purchase of the car? I didn't get a receipt so I have no proof as to how much i bought the car for, but I do know what garage the previous owner took it to where they checked it and said the engine was blown so should I contact them for proof? Any help on what I can do to fix this problem would be appreciated!

  • Have you ever had scabies? and how easy was it for u to get rid of it?

My kids somehow got scabies and my husband and I got it from them. We went to doctor a month ago and we were prescribed premethrin to get rid of it but I don't think it has worked as I am extremely itchy again and noticed a burrow on my arm. Need some ideas from others who were able to get rid of it. I washed all our clothes and vacuumed house and beds and washed bed sheets etc. I'm going crazy because it is so gross and I itch all the time. Feels like something is stinging me. Weird thing is my itching is worse during the day and not at night like many experience with scabies. An help or ideas to get rid of this nasty parasite would be very helpful!

  • How possible is it I could contract hep C from using someone's glucose meter?

So my friend's sister has Hep C from heroin use a few years ago. One day she was checking her gluclose with her meter and I was curious to see what my blood level was so I asked if I could use the machine. She didn't change the needle and I asked her shouldn't she change it and she said there was no blood on it and that I couldn't get HEP C from sticking myself with it. So I checked my gluclose and now I'm freaking out because my nursing friend said that I could potentially have it from that. This only happened like 1 or 2 weeks ago so it probably wouldn't show up anyway but what are the odds one gluclose meter stick could cause it???

  • Can I download my nook books to my computer and then put them on my friend's nook?

I just bought the nook color and want to give my old nook to my friend. Is there anyway I can give her the nook and the books that I've purchased on it? I know that if she gets her own account that it will erase my books on it but is there a way I can download the books onto my computer and then transfer to her nook or is that not possible?

  • What engines would fit in a 2005 Ford Escape? It is 2.3 L and 4 cyl?

I need an engine for a 2005 Ford Escape that I bought and I was wondering if there are other Ford cars that might have the same engine or if it is only specific to the ford escape? Also where are some good places I can purchase one without paying a whole lot of money? I really want to try and find one for about $600 dollars if I could. Really I just need the block so even an engine with a bent valve or one that has overheated would work. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

  • Computer says my usb device drivers are installed successfully but I still can't access the drive!?

I have an ereader that I plugged into a USB port and the computer showed that the device drivers were installed successfully. However when I go to my computer it shows a removable E drive but doesn't let me access it. It says "please insert a disk into removable disk". So it isn't showing my ereader's drive. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this? I have plugged the ereader into two different computers and it is doing it on both of them. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that doesn't do anything. I have restarted the computer, still nothing. My device will charge plugged into the computer but just won't bring up the drive so I can't access my books! ANy help would be appreciated!

  • What could be causing my nail to turn yellow in one spot and be flaky?

I noticed on my thumb one day that it had an area on it where it was very flaky and yellow. I picked at the area until part of the area underneath my nail is now exposed. This has been two weeks now and the area is still there and doesn't seem as though it is going away. My nail doesn't seem to be growing over the area either. What could this be?

  • Having back pain and chest pain and need some advice.?

I'm a 28 year old female who has recently started getting pressure like pain in my chest along with pain in my upper back and shoulder and sometimes into my neck. It has me very worried. I went to the doctor and they did an EKG and took a chest x-ray and said everything was fine. This pain has been very often in the last couple of weeks. I keep thinking maybe it is due to posture or maybe I pulled a muscle but it has started to scare me. I'll go hours a day with this pressure in my back and chest pain. It is usually alleviated at times by changing position but it never fully goes away. Just needing some advice on what people think it might be!!

  • 4 week old baby is coughing and choking after feedings. Could this be reflux?

Recently I noticed that my baby had developed a cough. Everyone in our house as been sick with a cold so I thought it was possible he had a cold...Then I started to notice that the cough was considerably worse after he ate. After he eats he just coughs and coughs and coughs for about 20 minutes before settling down. Then he will go hours without a cough until the next feeding at which time it starts again. I'm assuming this could be reflux but he doesn't spit up or anything so not sure. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Already taken to the doctor for his cough and they say he sounds fine. Is there anything I can do at home to alleviate the cough?

  • My four week old has a cough but no other symptoms?

My four week old baby just got out of the hospital last week after being in the ICU for two weeks and diagnosed with a seizure disorder. He almost died...Now he has been out for a week and in that time myself, my husband, and my other son have come down with a cold. My other son is now in the hospital for pneumonia (he is 20 months old)....Yesterday my baby started coughing. I took him to the doctor today who said his lungs are clear and he couldn't hear or see anything wrong with him...Still, I'm worried because the baby keeps coughing...Should I take him to the doctor again or wait a few days and see how he does?

  • To those who go to University of Phoenix and have student loans through them. Quick question?!?

I just received a notice today that effective Oct 9th that those of us that have chosen to manage our own financial aid funds will no longer be able to do so. Apparently the U of Phoenix will retain those funds for future classes and other costs. Does this mean that any excess funds that are not needed for classes will still be credited to us? I was expected some extra money back that I was going to use to purchase a new laptop because mine is now causing quite a few problems, so just wanted some clarification!

  • Anyone had bedbugs and been able to successfully get rid of them?

We went to Mexico for a few months and somehow brought bedbugs back with us. I am absolutely mortified and have no idea how we are going to get rid of them. Everything I've read said it is EXTREMELY difficult and that we will need an exterminator. We really can't afford to pay exterminators and I'm wondering if anyone else has had success getting rid of the nasty little bugs...

  • What to do about 16 month old that is constantly pinching and hitting my friend's 2 year old?

My son has always been the sweetest boy. Recently due to losing our jobs, my husband and I moved in with his friends who have a 2 year old daughter. My son is an only child and so is she so he has never really been around other toddlers close to his age. Everyday when they play my son will grab her and pinch her as hard as he can. He also will pull her hair and knock her down. I feel so bad like my child is a bad child but I know that at times it is normal. He doesn't take no for an answer though and still hits. Any ideas how I can break him of this??

  • For those of you that had high blood pressure during pregnancy, did you have any complications?

I'm 19 weeks pregnant and I went to the doctor yesterday for an ultrasound. They told me my blood pressure was 140/100. This is not new to me as I had high blood pressure with my first child throughout the whole pregnancy (never resulted in preeclampsia), and I generally have higher blood pressure when not pregnant too. This is my second baby and I'm just worried and would like some reassurance from others who have been in my place. It is possible I might be put on medication....Did you all delivery healthy babies? Did any deliver prematurely? Anything you could tell me would be highly appreciated!

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and have yet to feel this baby move. This is my second and I always heard with second pregnancies I would feel it sooner. With my son I didn't feel him to about 21 weeks ( I am also significantly overweight)...Need some reassurance that all is probably well!!

  • Have any of you had the Swine flu and if so, how sick were you and for how many days?

I'm just curious as to how people have dealt with having the Swine flu and what to expect. I live in Mexico right now where the Swine flu first broke out, but I'm from the U.S. and I know right now that the U.S. is the most infected country in the world at this moment. I'm going back to the U.S. in two weeks and I'm also pregnant which puts me in the higher risk category for having complications from it!!
