  • What Is A Good Cheap Clarinet?

My daughter's clarinet needs to go into the shop because of various issues (mostly because it's 80 some odd years old). As a result i want to pick up an inexpensive clarinet to get her over the hump while they fix the nice one. Any suggestions. There are plenty of cheap clarinets on eBay and I understand it's a "you-get-what-you-pay-for" type of deal but keep in mind it's only temporary. She is a beginner/intermediate player. 3 years at elementary school level. Any ideas on Laval, Cecilio, Lazarro, or Mendini?

  • Legal Question, "Being Sued". Only attorneys or experts please.?

I was recently contacted by an Attorney's office about a debt from Arrow Financial stating that I owed about 1700 dollars. I have had no contact with or from Arrow, ever, until this letter. No calls, no letters, etc. I don't know if this is legit or bogus. I unfortunately did not contact this attorney to dispute the debt and after two days past the deadline they filed suit.

I don't have any problems going to court over this and suspect that they won't even send an attorney. Just a body to try to claim a default judgement.

Do I asked for a dismissal if they are unprepared? Do I ask for a "dismissal with prejudice" or "without?"

If they come prepared what is my defense other than asking for a jury trial?

Do I still write this attorney's office disputing the debt or wait until the court date to state to the judge that I don't know who these people are?

Sorry so many questions but I believe each needs an answer.

And please don't give me a response of contact an attorney. I don't believe I will be hiring one and if it goes to trial I'm sure I will.

    Thanks.

  • AMD Employee Stock Increase?

I own shares in AMD and received a voting card on a stock increase. AMD wants to increase the amount of shares available to its employees from 17million to 25million. I have not decided on whether to vote up or down on this issue because I'm not sure what it will do to the price.

Is this, in effect, the same as a split, or are they creating new stock shares, or are they just pulling from the existing pool of stock.

  • A Question About Interest. REPOSTED?

I wasn't as clear the first time through as I should have been. Here is the same question with better details. I did get one good answer the first time though.

I bought a motorcycle from Honda at 9.9% interest. I was told that I could pay it off early if I wanted and that would effectively reduce my interest. So I pay extra on the monthly amount. The payment is $155 but I always pay $160 or better. The extra is supposed to go towards the principle but last month I paid $175 so $20 dollars is supposed to go towards the principle but they applied $11 more towards the interest and only $9 towards the motorcycle

What's up with this? I can't ask them about it until tomorrow.

So in essence my interest last month was $55 this month it was $ 65.

The statement clearly states that any payments made in excess to the standard is applied towards the principle. There is no check box.
