I am a college student looking for a job now that I've figured out my student aid disbursement covers exactly my housing, utilities (including internet and phone), and transportation. I eat at home as often as possible, but I like to go out too. What's a reasonable monthly income not to feel like I'm trapped in my apartment with no money to do anything?

I couldn't help feeling very offended because it made me feel like he thought I was dirty or something. How would you feel about this? If you are Muslim, do you have a better explanation than me tainting him? My co-worker is a very good friend and it was hard to take for that reason too.

Another friend just broke up from his "fairy tale relationship" and has to deal with the heartache and betrayal of trust for the rest of his life. I don't want to see that happen to my best friend, but the chances of her finding Prince Charming and not getting her heart broken are not that good, especially since she's so naive. She's a virgen and she's saving herself for someone special. My outlook is like this: when my boyfriend asked me if I first saw him across the table and thought he was "Mr. Right," I told him there was no such thing but I wanted to try a relationship. I'm also of the opinion that people are fallible and while I would find cheating unforgiveable, I can accept that it could happen. My friend is the type to throw herself trustingly into a relationship with anyone that she's attracted to. Is there anything I can tell my friend, or do I just have to wait for her to get her heart broken?

He's still devastated that his wife of three years cheated on him and left him, and their marriage is definitely over but they are not officially divorced. He said he still wants to keep seeing me and I still want to keep seeing him, but he had to get stinking drunk to even tell me about this, and I wonder if he's not ready to date at all. I (being myself) am definitely not the worst relationship to have after a messy one, given that I have a lot of integrity and compassion, a very level head, and a high level of independence, but I still wonder about him. What do you think?

My boyfriend is constantly mentioning my age as if that extra 4 years of life that I haven't lived makes my opinion less credible than his. He didn't want to tell me his age for a long time and when I found out he was "only 25," I figured we were on the same playing field age wise. He's been married in what I gather was a naive and unsustainable relationship and seems to think that this experience makes him an expert at relationships. On the other hand, I've only been in a few good relationships with guys that are still friends, but things just didn't work out romantically. I don't know how to explain to him that my lack of bad experiences is largely a product of very careful (and even scarily meticous) life choices and not solely a lack of experience. Do you think that a 4-year age difference matters? How do I explain to him that my choices (in everything from relationships to cooking to cars) is a product of my personality and upbringing, and not a product of the immaturity of not seeing what he regards as his perfect rationality?

I am thinking about starting a cleansing diet, hopefully to increase my energy by detoxifying my body. I don't need to lose weight. Has anyone gone on such a diet? Does it help?
