  • Just wondering how the economy works?

Just wondering when Bush became president and economy collapsed some people blamed Clinton, that he messed up economy before he left. Now Obama is president, and lets say things start to look better in two to three years, wonder if the same people will claim that Bush fixed the economy before he left it is just showing its effect after two years.

  • A quote by W M Watt. Do you agree?

I therefore certainly don’t think the West is locked into Jihad with Islam, though I suppose if the fundamentalists go too far they’ll have to be opposed. Iran’s comments about the “Great Satan” were aimed mostly at the United States: they were not made because the West was Christian. I think the West should try to overcome these strains between different religious groups. I do, however, think that the US is following a very dangerous policy in relation to the Middle East. The root of this trouble is that the US gives too much support to Israel. They allow them to have nuclear weapons and to do all sorts of things, some of which are contrary even to Jewish law. Jewish families occupy Arab houses without payment. That is stealing. I think that the US should be much firmer with Israel and put a lot of pressure on them, though this is difficult because of the strong Jewish lobby. Unless something is done there’ll be dangerous conflict in the Middle East. Such danger would be less likely to arise if all three Abrahamic faiths - Jews, Christians and Muslims - paid greater respect to what God teaches us about living together

  • what would you do if you were Iran?

Iraq didnt have WMD got attacked. North Korea has WMD or working on it openly, got diplomacy. What would you do if you were in Iran's position.

Not asking if iran is evil or if we are better off not having saddam. There are lot of people without them world would be a better place (including Bush and Cheney). So just answer the question without calling names and 5th grade girlyman's politics.

  • Asking the same question again and expecting a conservative to put a good argument.?

Do you know Bush is taxing us more than we think he is. How? not directly but rather by indirect means. While inflation looks like it is normal government is printing more money than it ever was. As you know a euro is one of the most stable currency in the world and was about .80 cents in 2000 now costs almost $1.48. I am hoping as educated citizens you know the gold value is rising ever since paper money came to existance, But I want you to look at the pattern. http://goldprice.org/gold-price-history.... In year 2000, 68 cents were equal to one canadian dollar now it is almost 89 cents. that is about 20 cents/dollar. means in canadian currancy if you were making a $100000 a year now you are making only $80000. If you will say well it dosnt show up in price. Then the reality is food prices and basic expenses are going up. Elctronics and bigger purchases like houses and cars hasn't went up. So do you think the tax cuts were real?

  • An interesting thought just cross my mind about Bush and Gore?

By defination a liberal is the one who challenges the norm and a conservative who follows the norm. In 2000 election there was Gore who was for doing the same thing last three president did. Avoid wars, use diplomacy, save social security (remember the lockbox) and stuff. On the other hand here Bush was with some radical Ideas like investing social security, and big tax cuts and leave no child behind school vouchers. I mean those were not conservative ideas. Based on this point of if you could please tell me what makes Bush a conservative and Gore a liberal.

  • Are we Americans as innocent as we think we are?

Call it blood diamond or bloody oil. We are pretty much involved in every mess out in the world to protect out intrest. we are the ones who demand cheap oil. We invented the nuclear weapon. first and only one ever to use it on innocent people. we went to vietnam to help a curropt and unpopular goverment. And when it so really about genocide and democracy (Liberia and Sudan) we put minimal effort. just enough to get by. No saying that we are evil. To me USA is one of the best country in this world. We helped in kosovo, bosnia and many places where it mattered. Then again we are not really innocent either.

  • Gay marriage?

Gay maariage, is that really an issue? I mean I havent heard about it since presidential election. wonder if it was a device to win election or it is a real issue? Why do we really care about it. I am not for gay marriage, I am not against it. Hell I don't even care what they do or they don't. If marriage is so sacred it is your church who suppose to enforce it not government. Then again why nobody talks about it anymore and wonder if it will be again a big issue during election?
