What does this MRI reading mean? (Groin strain)?
I have had a groin strain for months now. Since the beginning of May I've stopped any type of vigorous physical activity or working out to try to rest it. Obviously I can't stop walking, but I don't do anything strenuous. After a month, it was still bothering me. I was concerned because any time I would sneeze or cough, I would feel pain on my inner-thigh/groin area.
I went to an orthopedist who ordered an MRI. The impression was as follows:
1. Grade 1 strain of the left iliopsoas anterior to the left hip joint extending toward the lesser tronchanter. No high-grade strain or rupture is seen.
2. Small bilateral trochanteric bursitis.
3. Bilateral bone edema/contusion within the pubic bones directly surrounding the pubic symphysis. This could relate to contusion from an injury or a stress reaction.
After reading the MRI, the Orthopedist basically said I would be fine after another month or so and sent me to physical therapy. I'm concerned because it still hurts when I sneeze and really doesn't seem to have improved much at all during the entire time I've been resting it. Is it possible that I should have another doctor read the MRI (I have the images on a CD) or are my symptoms consistent with a relatively minor strain? I don't want to spend hundreds more on another doctor if I'm just overreacting... but I feel like it should be getting better by now and I shouldn't be feeling a sharp pain every time I sneeze.
4 AnswersInjuries10 years agoHow many meteorites strike the earth in a day?
I realize that micrometeorites hit all the time, but how many meteors with a diamater of more than an inch or two hit in a given day? Land or water, anywhere on earth.
If possible, please provide a source as I am asking this to resolve a wager with a co-worker. Thanks for your help.
3 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoIn Texas, what are the duties of a deputy constable?
I'm a recent transplant from another state. I understand city police departments, they enforce laws within a city's limits. I understand county sheriff's departments, they are responsible for court security, the jails, and providing law enforcement to unincorporated areas and contract cities.
But what does a constable do? What is the scope of his authority? It seems that deputy constable is to a justice of the peace as a deputy sheriff is to a judge, but... why do deputy constables do traffic enforcement in the middle of the city (in Dallas County, for example).
I haven't found a single Texas resident who can really explain it to me, nor have I had any luck on line. Anyone?
