  • What is the purpose of government?

It looks like this has been asked a couple times, but I want to give you some boundaries.

First, I don't want the definition of government. I know that already.

Secondly, this question pertains to the purpose of the government created by the US Constitution.

Thirdly (and most important), cite any sources.

  • How productive are the debates?

The current debates are heavily moderated and usually the candidates are forced to reduce comments down to sound bytes. Moderators rarely allow candidates to openly argue positions with one another.

On the other hand, it allows the voting populous to become at least somewhat acquainted with the views of the major parties' candidates. Furthermore, it informs the populous how "Presidential" that candidate may be.

So, how truly productive are the debates? Do they give us what we need or want? Should there be more moderation or less? Fewer or more candidates? Are the debates slanted depending upon which party is present?

    Please cite any sources.

  • Mission accomplished?

According to the banner, the mission in Iraq was accomplished over four years ago. What was the mission? It was initially to find and destroy the weapons of mass destruction. It was later relayed that the 'mission accomplished' banner referenced the end of major military activity in Iraq. Is that the case?

Please cite sources if you deem it necessary.

  • What has been the effect of intermediate scrutiny?

Intermediate scrutiny was introduced by the Supreme Court in Craig v. Boren, and was given more posture and definition by Justice O'Connor. Has intermediate scrutiny legitimately advanced the interests of those it seeks to protect, or has it muddied the waters between itself and its two counterparts (rational basis and strict scrutiny)?

  • Do you ever talk to your turkey before you eat it?

    For example:

Me "Hello, Mr Turkey! I hope you're ready to get eaten!!"

Me imitating turkey "Hello, yeah I guess I am you self-righteous punk"

Usually I will talk to the turkey with a really energetic voice, but the turkey talks back in a low, dragging voice.
