  • Comedy Club Credit Card Charge, Promised Show Not Delivered?

Bought tickets to a comedy show w/credit card. There were supposed to be 3 comedians (all of who were named on the website, and in other promotional materials), but only 2 performed.

    --------

Spoke to the on-site manager at the club after the show, she said the missing performer was delayed and she found out about it only 2 hours before show ... I bought my tickets only 1 hour before show, and was told by ticket seller that there would be 3 comedians. I told the on-site manager that it wasn't my fault the performer was delayed, I should get a full or at least a partial refund. She said too bad, you saw a show, we're keeping your money. My phone calls to the club's higher level staff have not been returned.

    -------

Would I be successful disputing this on the grounds that the promised performers did not perform? Specifically, would Visa back me in this dispute? Obviously, this would not be worth going to court over.

  • Vegas - View of the Strip at Dusk?

I know a person can go up the Stratosphere for a good view of the Strip. Other suggestions of places that offer a nice vantage point? It would be cool to sit and have a drink somewhere non-hectically crazy and have a nice view, if it exists.

  • Las Vegas, Downtown, Gym - FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE!?

First, do not answer with, "Check the website of the hotels in the area" or "I think there might be a chain gym somewhere near downtown." I am looking for someone who can give me an ANSWER BASED ON FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE!

Vacationing in Vegas later this month. Staying downtown, but our hotel has no gym. Is there a good gym in or very near downtown, that offers a workout at decent day rate?

Note: Want a real gym - with full weights, nautilus or similar machines, some aerobic.

  • Laptop - Built In Mouse Button - Stopped Clicking?

My laptop (like most) has a built-in touch pad and mouse buttons. My left mouse button still works, but it recently stopped clicking, and feels spongy. I tried cleaning the area, but this did not help.

    What is the solution?

If it needs professional repair, has anyone had this done, if so, how much do they charge?

I am trying to copy some pictures onto a CD. For some reason, Windows Explorer is choking on this task?

The pictures are not large, less the 1MB each in size. I am only trying to copy about 50 photos onto the CD-R.

Please help with step by step instructions!

  • I hate teams with 3 goalies!?

I'm tired of watching boring teams like the Devils play 3 goalies (Oldeur and 2 d-men blocking shots just in front of him, whenever they are under pressure).

Should it be illegal to go down and block a shot if your within 10 feet of your own goal?

Or maybe create a key (like in basketball), in which defensemen cannot stand, unless there is also an opposition player in the key.

  • New Car, Dipstick Wrong Length?

I have a new car, I think the dipstick is the wrong length.

When the car was new, driven less than 50 miles, it showed as being overfilled. I had it drained to bring it down to the right level.

Just had an oil+filter change, saw the tech put in exactly the right amount of oil (from quart containers), and the dipstick shows it as being overfilled.

The one explanation that makes sense is that the dipstick is the wrong length, which makes it read as overfilled when it is actually at the proper level. Thinking: I can't imagine the factory would overfill the engine. I don't know of a reason why it would show as overfilled at this point, given that it was just filled with the correct amount of oil.

Does my thinking make sense? Should I get the dipstick shortened? What would you do?

  • Using 5w20 instead of 5w30 ... a conspiracy?

Many new car manufacturers advise using 5w20. I have heard they do this so they pay lower fees to the government, because thinner 5w20 allows gas mileage to be 1 or 2 mpg better. But, the thinner oil does not protect your engine nearly as well as 5w30 ... so your engine will blow up much sooner (after your warranty is expired, but sooner). But the auto manufacturers don't really care, because they don't want your engine to last 150,000 miles. They will sell less cars if everyone's car lasts for 10 years.

    Has anyone else heard this?

  • Is the Iverson deal a bust for the Nuggets?

In games Iverson has played in for Denver, they are 8-12.

In games Iverson has played in alongside Anthony (when Denver would supposedly be great), the Nuggets are 2-5.

The 76ers had only 5 wins with Iverson, they were way out of the playoff picture. They now have 17 wins. They are 5-5 in their last ten games (versus the Nuggets being 4-6).

Now Iverson is hurt. Is this trade officially a bust for the Nuggets, and a great move for the 76ers?

  • Dome/outdoor team factor: First Chicago - Indy next?

Okay, the Bears are killing dome team the Saints outdoors in Chicago. New Orleans is clearly not in their element, they can't seem to hold onto the ball, or run, on the messy Chicago field.

Does this mean outdoor team the Patriots, will lose indoors at Indianapolis, because they just won't be able to win in an unfamilar, too perfect, indoor environment?

    Big advantage Colts, I think.

Plus, the Pats have one less day of rest (Indy won last Saturday, the Pats won on Sunday), and are playing their second consecutive road game.

  • Don't you have want Saints-Colts?

The two best QBs this weekend are obviously Brees and Manning. Wouldn't it be a great superbowl to see them go head to head in Miami in 2 weeks? Shades of Montana-Marino.

  • Will Seahawk fans quit whining about the refs?

All I heard in February is how Pittsburgh won because of the refs, and now there is already whining that the Bears won just because of the refs?

FYI, that yellow line is a Fox estimate of where the first down line is - not the official line.

The Hawks lost because Grossman outplayed Hasselbeck by a wide margin. Rex overcame a subpar effort by the Chicago D (they didn't look great versus the run).

I saw a fairly officiated game today. How did everyone else see it?
