  • Child abuse; I got into a fist fight over it, was I right or wrong for getting involved?

I despise child abuse & will go after anyone that I see abusing a child. I do believe in discipline, but not hitting or abusing a child. My wife & I had dinner in a hotel tonight A man was in the lobby screaming at his daughter who had to be about eight years old. Suddenly, he took off his belt, sat in a chair, pulled his daughter across his lap, picked up her skirt and started beating her backside with his belt. People were screaming at him. I ran over and grabbed the belt out of his hand. He lunged at me. He was about 35 years old, about 6'5" tall, weighs about 275 pounds. I am 61, 6'2" tall & weigh 305. My exercize happens to be aerobic boxing. We got into an all out fist fight in the lobby. I have never been in a fight in my life. I knocked him down several times, but he kept on getting up. Finally a cop came and this guy punched the cop. The cop had blood all over his face. Then about 12 cops came & arrested the guy. Was I right or wrong for getting involved?

  • FOR ADULTS ONLY. Would you hurt a friend or be silent?

A few months ago, a friend of mine lost his wife to ovarian cancer. He does not want to get involved with anyone, but being "normal & healthy" he has certain sexual needs. A couple of weeks ago, he started to patronize a brothel in New York City. He went there again tonight & when they took him in the room to meet the "ladies" there was the 23 year old daughter of a friend of ours. She started to scream & ran out. After he explained the situation to the "madam" and her security men, the gave him back his money & he left. The young girl must think he is going to tell her parents & he wants to. I am telling him not to do that. It would only ruin their family. Just forget about it & let the girl know that. He feels her parents should know in case she gets a disease or hurt by a client. I feel it would devastate our friend & his wife. Beside, the girl is not a minor. My friend is here with me right now. Would you tell her parents or not? I wouldn't.
