would running an evaporative cooler in the same room with an air conditioner give no net benefit over an air conditioner alone? would the cooling provided by evaporation be canceled out by the heat generated by condensation on the air conditioner coils when the moisture is removed? thanks

I have an osepp pro (arduino clone) and also the parts to make a breaduino. these claim I need an FTDI breakout board to connect to the USB board on my computer.

If I was able to run the arduino programmer on an old computer with a serial port, could I use that? would I need extra parts? (other than the serial cable I would make) thank you

I had BPPV (positional vertigo) at least 5 years ago so I fixed it with the exercises.

now it is back, but thankfully not as bad.

when I am lying on my back and roll my head to the left side, my vision spins.

does this mean my left ear is the bad one?

is the bad ear on the top or bottom when things are spinning?

it seems like some exercises move your hear from a bad position to a good one, is this correct?

with the xbox 360, it is VERY difficult to get them to remove a credit card from your account(go on xbox, online, and finally call them) to keep them from auto renewing at a higher price.

now today, on xbox it says their offer of 39.99 is the cheapest EVER!

can I use ddr2 1066 memory in it and run it at 800 mhz?

I had a 3 month xbox gold membership that I paid $10 for through the xbox.

when it expired they offered to renew it at the regular price which is $20.

I refused and let it expire.

now I am getting cheaper offers.

I was offered a year for $40, then 3 months for $10.

I did not get them because getting microsoft to not renew was a huge pain.(to remove my credit card)

now I got an offer of a year for $30, with a free halo helmet for my avatar!

If I do not accept this offer, will it get even cheaper?

I have an AM2 cpu socket motherboard

specifically it is an ECS elitegroup GeForce7050M-M

it has a 4 pin 12v socket.

the power supply is an ultra V series 500 watt ATX

the box says "meets ATX Version 2.03 and ATX 12v Version 1.2 Specifications"

the power supply has no 4 pin connectors that fit, but it does have a 6 pin and an 8 pin that will fit.

the 6 pin has 3 black wires on the clip side

the 8 pin is the other polarity, with the yellow wires on the clip side.

which one should I use?

in a 4 pin connector, is +12v on the clip side or is the clip side ground?

after 10 uses one side gets fully plugged with dirt so it is not removing any soil.

and it is VERY difficult to remove the soil when the tube is full

I bought a sempron cpu

now I need to buy memory to make sure it works

should I buy memory in pairs? since it is called "dual channel" does that mean matched pairs run faster? is it noticeable?

or should I buy a single 1GB stick and use that and if everything works them buy a second identical one

I have a TIVO series 2 and the transfers are very slow over a wired ethernet connection.

to transfer a 524mb recording (30 minute video on medium quality)

it takes an hour!

where is the setting in tivo desktop on the computer where I can set it to be a dedicated tivo server, I cannot find it again.

I have a wireless router in my office

3 ports go to 2 computers and a printer in the office

the forth lan port goes through the house ethernet wiring to the basement where it goes into the wan port of an old router. I have a tivo and xbox360 plugged into 2 lan ports.

they are connected but it do not have full functionality

they work great if I remove the second router and plug the device in to the ethernet cord directly (port of first router)

but I want to have them both connected always.

what should I turn off in the router to make it act like a simple switch?

I have a dlink 604 wired router and a dlink-514 and netgear-MR814v2 B wireless routers to choose from as the second router.

Do I just turn off the firewall on the second router?

the clutch on my pickup went out rather quickly.

the last time I drove it I had to pull over and stop to get it into gear.

now I cannot get it into gear If the truck is running (goes in if engine is stopped)

but if I put it in gear with the engine off, then I cannot start it(even with the pedal depressed)

the clutch pedal has no effect if the engine is running.

I changed the gear oil in the transmission/gearbox

I pressed on the lever that the clutch linkage presses on that goes into the gearbox

with a 2x4 and it still would not go into gear so I do not think it is a clutch pedal adjustment.

I have clutches wear out before where they slip, but this is the opposite problem (not releasing) instead.

what am I likely to find?

did the clutch springs break?

If I drop the gearbox and fix the clutch, will I be able to replace some seals to make it less leaky?

I have already done the engine and rear end so at that point everything will stop leaking and stay clean, yay!

The brakes in my 63 chevy pickup have a problem.

the pedal goes to the floor in the first press.

the second press is great, it is firm 1/3 of the way down and has plenty of stopping power.

when I removed the rear end to work on the differential,

I replaced both rear wheel cylinders, the metal brake line tube to the right rear and also the flexible line that goes from the metal brake line to the wheel cylinder

Would a problem in the rear brakes of the truck change the feel of the brake pedal so dramatically?

What should I look for?

Are there any budget powered subwoofers that only have the LFE input?

all I see have speaker level inputs and outputs, and crossovers that I do not need.

It would seem to me that a subwoofer without this extra electronics would be less expensive to manufacture.

my home theater receivers have a single mono output for the subwoofer and that is all I will use.

it seems a waste to throw out a $40 bath mat just because the rubber backing starts to come off.

is there a rubber coating you can apply to it to make it like new again?

what causes the rubber backing to wear out? could it be the heat from the clothes dryer?

a relative was in portugal and was pickpoketed by a gypsy at a gypsy farmer's market. When they were caught and the wallet was returned the other gypsies were very angry that the wallet was returned(not that it was stolen).
