What do I do about the mean women at work?
I have worked at a company in Southern California for over 8 years. I am white with very white skin and light hair. The asian women I work with are very cliquish. I have been friendly towards all the people I work with and not being from Southern California originally, I don't exactly fit into the stereotypical cliques that, based on what I look like, would normally fit into. I made that pretty clear from day one. Yet these women still persist in their attitude towards me and have attacked me in many subtle ways like tattling on me to management for minor, insignificant things, that I am sure the bosses would rather not hear about. Also, data entries that are performed by these women for my accounts has way more than the average number of errors. One of my additional duties is to serve as backup for one these women, and she often is "sick" on the day of the week that requires me to focus primarily on my main job duty, I feel to put additional stress on me. When I was pregnant, another one of them told me she thought that children with blond eyelashes looked freaky, knowing that I would most likely have a blond baby (and I did). There are many other, subtle, passive-aggressive examples. I don't want to jeopardize my job because, in this economy, I can't afford to open the "racist" can of worms.
3 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoshould I leave my husband? he lost a very well paying job shortly after I became pregnant?
He got another less well paying job soon after but let go from that one too. He was then unemployed for 14 months. He then got another job that pays about a third of the first job, which he still has. Meanwhile, as a result, we have creditors chasing us, threatening to sue and garnish his wages. I heard him say,"if they garnish my wages, I'll just quit my job". He is also wanting another child as soon as this first one gets in kindergarten (next year). I am no spring chicken, in fact, I went around and around with my obstetrician during the pregnancy about working. He wanted me off work, which we couldn't afford with husband not working. I basically had to break the doctors orders in order to have food on the table. Our house is falling apart because of repairs we cannot afford to have someone fix and my husband will not do ANYTHING around the house. We have termites, mold growing in the cupboards from a flash flood we had earlier this year along with a warped kitchen floor, (husband refused to call the insurance company), leaking bathtub faucet that flooded the garage. The house was a fixer upper when he bought it and I assumed that my husband would be interested and able to do the fix up work. He's not all that interested or able and he gets really upset/nervous if I try to do anything. He ends up micro-managing me to an extreme. He doesn't do a whole lot of housework, so I am constantly having to do all of it (and work full time and take care of the kid) and then actually wonders why I don't want anybody to come over and visit our little health hazard. He actually doesn't see a thing wrong with it!!!! I have tried to tell him that the house is a reflection of the woman, so if it looks bad, everybody looks to me. And I can't do a thing about it. I feel so trapped......

I have had a real tree up for a week, have been watering it regularly and it is fully decorated. My husband informed me that it just fell over.....can they do that all by themselves or do they need "help"?

6 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoWhat is the most effective way, without being rude, to shut down a male chavanist?
My husbands company picnic is coming up, and there is this old guy that constantly spews these "women are stupid" type comments to his co-workers' wives when our husbands are out of earshot. As an adult, I can ignore his opinion, but my concern is that there are children around him when he says these things. I don't want to make a HUGE scene and make it look bad for my husband in any way, but I don't want children to think it is okay to make rude male chauvinist comments like that. My daughter is very young, too young to understand, but some of the other girls there are in the 7-10 year old range. It takes everything I can muster, to keep myself from reading the old dinosaur the riot act in a not so classy manner. I have heard others try to tell him politely that he needs to mind his Ps and Qs, to no avail. Any suggestions?
23 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoI am losing my hair!?
I had a baby 3 months ago and I have mass quantities of loose hairs. I realize it is because of the hormone fluxuations. Is there anything that can be done to help me shed the hairs faster so that I can get this process over with or a way to lessen the number of hairs that I loose?
