  • Suggestions for a singer with a deep voice?

I'm searching for a singer with a deep voice. Preferably bass, or perhaps a really low baritone. I'd like a bass singer if someone knows one though.

Dare I hope that someone is able to suggest something of this kind in rock? But any genre will do, really.

    Thanks, guys, for any suggestions.

  • How do I stop obsessing over winning?

This is getting absolutely crazy! I participated in a collage making contest in the cultural fest in college, just for fun. I thought mine was easily the best, but because of my not reading the rules carefully enough, (apparently, it was against the rules to use writing) I didn't win. And now I can't stop obsessing over it! I mean, it's a small thing, I keep telling myself you don't have to win EVERYTHING you go in for, but I feel bad all the same. I really have to get out of this frame of mind where I have to constantly keep winning, and just enjoy things.

    Advice?

  • How should a newbie to mathematics start?

I was always rather intimidated by maths back at school, though I did take maths upto senior high school (I got up to calculus). Now, some years down the line, I think I'm beginning to appreciate it more, especially as I've had quite a lot to do with logic lately. So I've decided to continue with maths- a bit of self study on my own, mainly to spend my time in an interesting manner and to keep the wits sharp. Anybdy with ideas as to where and how I should start? Book/website suggestions? (I'm on a budget- I've got to buy my college books as well!!)

And most importantly, which are the more interesting areas in advanced maths? I've always liked logic; that's the horizon of my knowledge, but there must be other good bits out there..

    Thanks in advance!

  • Recommend your favourite logic game!?

I need a logical game. Not those games where the aim is to shoot everything that moves. Preferably something that involves reasoning/ abstract or strategic thinking, but not the Tetris style games, nor the ones where you arrange marbles and balls in groups.

I don't know if there is such a game, but something that involves deductive or inductive reasoning would be great...Please help, someone! Thanks in advance..

    PS- Not Sudoku please!

  • Does anyone know any tanning chemcials that's not inherently dangerous, but may be fatal in large quantities?

I know nothing at all about tanning. I want to know if there are any chemcials used in the tanning industries that's innocuous inherently, but may be dangerous in large quantities? (In leather tanneries)

For instnace, sleeping pills may be inerently harmless, but they're harmful if you take the entire bottle. Something on those lines?

    Help, somebody!

  • Do we even have a right to privacy anymore??

Do we blame the media or do we blame the people who like to know the flavour of Britney's favourite cereal? But be that as it may, what with new technology, it's becoming easier than ever to pry into other people's lives. Secret cameras. Spyware. Phone tapping. Anybody can find out everything about me- right from the fact that I cheated in my maths exam at age 6.5. Brrr....

Who's responsible? And what do we do about it?

  • I've just won the Nobel Prize. Does anyone know the formalities?

Well, it was a surprise. But I finally got the good news this morning. Not yet officially confirmed, but then...well, pretty much certain. What I'd now like to know is if anyone knows the nicities....what exactly you're supposed to do during the award ceremony. A bit early to start thinking about that, maybe, but what the hell. I'm excited.

  • How can I avoid looking bored?

I get bored of people very easily. I can stand only very few folks- my family, and a couple of close friends for a longer time. I cannot stand boring conversation, and I think that sows on my face, as I recently found out. (One person actually asked if I were bored.) I cannot tolerate small talk.

In short, I want to have meaningful conversations, not silly, frivolous boring stuff about this actor's love life, and the neighbour's somestic affairs!

The problem is, as I said, I think without meaning to, I show my feelings on my face. I've tried and tried to stop it, but I think it still somehow shows... I don't want to be rude, and I dont want to hurt anybody.

    Ideas? (Short of cosmetic surgery....)

  • How do you avoid the "sign in- user name password" page on a website?

All computer geeks, please tell me how to do this. I know there is some way to avoid the sign in password page on websites you don't have a subscription for, and jump over it to access the material. Please let me into the secret!!!

P.S. And don't give me lectures. I'm not listening.

  • Can one use privity of contract as a defence to avoid takeover liabilities?

OK, the situation is something like this-

Company X has a contract with me, an individual. They owe me something-they have a liability towards me. Now, if a company Y takes X over, (it's a takeover, so X's identity is lost), is Y a stranger to the contract?

It's driving me absolutely nuts. Help, somebody!

  • Do you post questions to get reactions from people?

Do you post inane questions sometimes, just to see what people reply? Or am I the only one? Any interesting answers you'd like to share? I'll give ten points for the best...

  • Why do I even bother?

Why the heck am I asking senseless questions when I should be working? What am I doing on Y! Answers anyway? Shouldn't I be checking out some old dumb case law? Lord Denning's opinion on life, the world and the right way to cook fish?

Why do I even bother asking this?

  • Is a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) a form of quasi contract?

I've searced for this point on the web but I can't get much info. Can anyone either tell me, or direct me to a site where I can learn more about the legal status of an MOU? Is it binding? Suppose a person's signed an MOU, and later not done what he said he would, can it be a breach of contract? (Duh..there was no contract) but then there might have been a verbal contract...It's driving me crazy!

  • Simple question- BUSH. Your opinion.?

OK, I know there are many others here who've asked and answered dozens of questions like this, but wait a sec! This is diff. What's your opinion of Mr. Bush? I'm not American, and just curious. How's he on TV and all? Just the same as he's presented to the outside world? In that case, HOW the &^%$£"$% did such a ahem..unusual man get re-elected? What's the magic, or the secret? His personal charisma or what?

Personally I believe he's managed to get hold of some secret potion from The Great Tomb of the Great Pharoah Tutenkamon.

  • Where can I get a free download of novels\stories of contemporary writers?

Most websites have books only from the middle ages. I'd like authors like Wole Soyinka, Nadine Gordimer. Project Gutenberg doesnt even have George Orwell. Copyrights are to blame, of course. But does anyone know where I can get more contemporary authors?
