Is there a danger from using a stove without an exhasut?
I just moved into a little guest house that has a gas stove but no exhaust system. The only thing above the stove is the ceiling. I know this is not a perfect scenario, but how dangerous is it in reality?

I will be starting culinary school soon. I would like to buy my first set of REAL cutlery. I want good quality stuff...the kind you see gliding through veggies and meats on the Food Network. I am willing to spend up to 350-500 dollars on a set. I need the basics...chef's knife, boning knife, paring, bread, cleaver...at least. I want to still have these years from now. Am I the only person who thinks vegans are so annoying? I mean, it's like they expect everyone to cater to their needs...They act like they are too good for what everyone else is eating (because normal people eat meat, or at least meat byproducts). And is it me, or are they always in a bad mood? Could it be because they are "not allowed" to eat ice cream? Anyone who doesn't eat ice cream by choice is pure concentrated evil, in my opinion.

About two weeks ago, I noticed an army ant wandering around the base of my toilet. Being a "junior entymologist" I just left him alone. But he has been no further than 16 inches away from the base of the toilet--FOR TWO WEEKS! It has gotten to the point where I want to take him outside into the field and let him join a freakin' colony or something already. He is always there! Could he be waiting for his comrades so he can let them know he has found water? Why doesn't he go away? Seriously, no stupid answers, please!

I followed all the instructions: I melted the sugar down until it became dark golden and smelled of caramel. Then, I let it stick to the sides of the pan until it hardened there. At that point, I stuck it in the oven in a deep pan with water and cooked until it was hardened. When I popped the flan out, it looked like there was never any caramel there. In fact, there was not even a shade of difference between the custard and what should've been the caramel.

Water bottles usually carry a warning to not re-use the bottles once they are empty. What is the differnce between using them when you buy them (full of water), but not later. Please answer only if you know the answer. Thank you.
