Are black holes really caused by gravity, or are they inverse light wave emitters?
Seriously, though, has anyone looked into this? I just started thinking about Bose noise-canceling headphones, and thought, why not black holes? If you can invert a sound wave and cancel out sound, why not light?

1 AnswerDrawing & Illustration1 decade agohow do you get the volume for a rotated trapezoid?
I'm trying to find the volume of a coffee cup, and the shape, depending on which way you want to look at it, is either a rotated trapezoid (the top radius is longer than the bottom radius), or a cone that has the tip cut off. My initial theory was to look at it as a big cone, and subtract the volume of the missing cone (the point), but then I've thought of finding volume as a function of a trapezoid being rotated. Anyone have any suggestions?
