2 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years ago2 layers of Crumb coat ?
I misunderstood some things I have read and so I crumb coated all the cakes ( 2 ) 6 inch and (2) 9 inch separately now I am seeing that I should have coated them by tier rather than by each cake. Should I just do another crumb coat and then freeze again or should I just deal with it in the final coats?
I need to bring this to the church to get put together tomorrow night.
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years agodog eating everything ( even poop and dirt) still losing weight.?
we took my 4 year old standard male doxie to the vet today because he was losing weight even though we had increased his food. we assumed it was a parasite but the dr ruled that out.
he seems starved and eats everything he can. in fact, the vet found his stomach was full of dirt in the X-rays. All his blood levels were normal but his blood sugar was a tiny bit higher than it should have been. the dr noticed his breathing was labored and his heart was enlarged. he was unsure of what this could be. he sent us home with a dewormer, an antibiotic and flora to see what that will do. could this be a mineral deficiency?
he's been on science diet. in the past he has had hot spots.
overall he's an active happy dog but this enlarged heart thing terrifies me.
23 AnswersDogs7 years agoDidn't put it on my résumé should I say it in interview?
My husband and I lived in Japan for 2 years and I taught English. When I filled out a recent application, I did not put that on there. Now that interview is much more likely than I ever thought I am second guessing that choice.
It would look good for the position that I am applying for that I did that job but I can't really confirm it so I didn't use it. I have considered recently the positive side of acknowledging that job at the least to explain a gap in my résumé. Should I mention it if I get the interview or will inconsistency kill my chances?
2 AnswersPsychology8 years agoDo playhouses go on sale?
Ok so I am saving up gift cards that I am earning through sites I won't name ,cuz I do not want to be reported. I want to buy my daughter a playhouse for Xmas. Where I live is not that cold during winter and I thought it would be great fun for Santa to decorate it with Xmas lights and stuff for Xmas morning.
All of that being said, I do know that most playhouses are bought during the summer/ spring. Will that affect prices at all whether I buy it during summer or winter? I am buying it regardless but should I hold off until winter to get a better deal?
Thank you in advance for any REAL. Answers.
2 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoStart on Atkins finish on low calorie/low fat?
introduction to my situation- recently prescribed medicine for low thyroid and to shake that 10lbs I want to lose, my doctor recommended cutting back all carbs including fruit and whole grains ( never thought a dr would recommend that). So I am doing just that.. Temporarily. My intent is to
use the basic principle of Atkins in that I cut back on carbs for the first
few weeks in order to cut cravings then add them back in smaller amounts.
The thing is I do not believe that Atkins is healthy as a permanent way of living
so I am concerned that my initial carb rehab will be destroyed when I bring
back whole grains and fruits.
Any recommendations for how to do this without going unrealistic ?
I feel like the cut back of carbs will help me shake cravings but should not stay that way. Any tips?
3 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agoHow long is the average time to get toddler to understand potty?
My husband has been pressuring me to get started potty training my daughter( his parents are coming in april so i think hes thinking she will be done by then. yeah ok).She is incredibly smart but we are nearly done with day two and I see no understanding at all. She's two.
She says "go potty in big girl potty". However I don't know if she either does not
have the muscular control or just doesn't get it. She pees on the floor we run her to the toilet immediately and have her sit there but she hasn't gone in the potty even accidentally yet.
I am the stay at home mom that has to deal with it come Monday.
She does keep her diaper dry most of the night and goes larger amounts at one time. She also
hates being wet or poopy.
How do I know if she just flat out isn't ready? What's the average amount of time
for her to start trying to hold in her urine instead of just peeing in her underwear. I understand that
potty training is not a 2 day thing ( some kids don't potty train til 4) but I am curious
how long it should take for it to be clear that she knows what she's SUPPOSED to be doing?
How long until its accidents instead of just repeated peed in underwear?
5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoGeneralized anxiety symptoms?
Psychosomatic symptoms or separate ?
I am currently a stay at home mom with my 2 y/o daughter snd i am a full time college student. I am taking 5 classes and i am overwhelmed. Please no comments on how easy I have it because it sure doesn't feel that way for me.
I have had stress issues since my daughter was born and with time my stress just seems to get worse.
I am not sleeping well even when my daughter lets me, I have chronic headaches and diarrhea. I feel like its all related.
My family has a heavy history of generalized anxiety and that could be it but what I am asking is would treatment for generalized anxiety help with my headaches etc?
Also I intend to be a psychologist, is there any way that I would be prevent that from happening besides just not being able to handle the stress?

1 AnswerHomework Help9 years agoexfoliate for sensitive skin?
ok I'm am a 28 year old with very fair sensitive skin. my skin is combination.for about a year I have been using the clarisonic every other day in the place of exfoliating. so I recently got some philosophy products that also exfoliate. I got the micro delivery peel, micro delivery wash and the help me retinal cream.
I want to use these products but I don't want to overdo it. I am thinking I will use the clarisonic with purity made simple 2 nights a week followed by the retinal and the use the peel once a week as well.
any estheticians out there??
1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body9 years agoSkin care for 28 y/o ?
I'm 28. I have always used moisturizer and eye cream and stayed out of the sun( I'm very fair, think Casper) so I don't have any specific problems. I just think its time to upgrade to a more defensive line. I never used any specific brand cuz I just pretty much tried different things. I am looking at the philosophy line since I love the face washes. I am a little worried that it may just be too much to use the miracle worker line and it will only break me out. What skin creams and serums do you recommend to someone my age?
I use the clarisonic tools already and love them.
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body9 years agoPlastic spray paint as a base?
I have something that is plastic that I would like to paint metallic brown. I have white plastic paint and regular brown metallic paint on hand. This may sound dumb but can I use the white as a base or will the formulas not work together. Also should I let the paint dry cure for the whole seven days before adding the brown or should I apply before it has had a chance to??

1 AnswerPainting9 years agoUps " In transit to" for days?
I know it's the holidays so it's insane for me to expect my package to get here at any reasonable time but my tracking has said " in transit to Vernon CA" for 2 days. I am curious to know if that means its probably being driven somewhere or if they may have just not scanned it on arrival. Chances are about 90% that I will get it on Tuesday since it says Saturday online and Saturday is Xmas eve and Monday they observe Christmas. I am just wondering if there is a minuscule chance that it's not being driven. It departed new jersey already but that was 2 am yesterday.
2 AnswersSmall Business9 years agoEnd tables decor help?
My husband and I bought a house oct of 2010 and it was just getting where I'd like.
BUT We had a living room with no end table sofa table or coffee table. Then we bought a set. I put it all in and suddenly the room looks naked. I thought it would look better but now it draws attention to our lack of drapes. ( can't afford them at the moment). The end tables and coffee table need to be centered off of that wall because there's really no other way to do it because of our floor plan.
Is there something I can do to draw the eye from the wall above the couch and the plain white vertical blinds.
I am thinking if I dress the tables right it will draw the focus back to the furniture not the ugly blinds.
Our living room has kind of a classic feel. We have tapestry inspired wall art, warm color tiled fireplace, dark cherry wood and a little bit of Asian influence in one corner. ( it looks good even though it sounds like it would clash)

2 AnswersCooking & Recipes10 years agoSeal before mod podge?
Any pointers on making this work would be greatly appreciated.
My Plan is to turn a walmart photo picture poster (16x20)into an awesome wall painting.
My concern is bleeding since it will be an actual picture. I think it will be awesome to make a picture I actually took and use mod podge brushstroke over it to make it into a painting but I would hate for it to all blur.
Both the picture and the mod will be matte.
Should I use a spray sealer before applying the podge or is that a waste? Help!
3 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)10 years agocranberry paint sponging with cherry wood?
ok so I saw a friends house several years ago that had a cranberry color and I loved it. my husband and I have talked about colors for the accent wall in our kitchen and he wants cranberry. the problem is we have cherry furniture nd cabinets. They are one of the finer points of our house and I worry the cranberry will wash out the beautiful cabinets. I keep reading yellows blues and greens are the best colors for it. He wants cranberry and won't hear of anything else. any ideas where I could sponge a color onto the cranberry to play it down?
the color he likes is wild manzanita by behr.
could I sponge it with something like
fossil butte by behr to tone it down?
3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling10 years agodark cherry cabinets and accent wall questions?
question 1- I have dark cherry cabinets. not blackish like mahogany but on the dark side. I really would love to do an accent wall next to our breakfast nook area burgundy or maroonish but everything I read says that it will make the cherry blend in. My table is the same cherry color.
I am not really that excited about the idea or a green wall or yellow wall which are the recommended choices. do you have any colors you would recommend. specific paint colors would be great. I really like the look of muted deep flat colors.
question 2- the purpose of an accent wall is to draw attention right?
I painted a dark redish brown accent wall above my mantel to draw
attention to the beautiful fireplace we have but my husband has mentioned
painting the opposite ( across from the fireplace) wall a different accent
color. I have read that doing that may make the room look more rectangle
shaped. what if we did a lighter shade on that wall. would it
be difficult to decide which wall to focus on? the wall is shorter than the other walls in
the room. it's more like a half wall.
3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling10 years agosolid color wall art too boring?
I am making wall panels to decorate my naked living room walls. I found fake suede fabric and covered foam board with it and it looks pretty but there's nothing on it. I have one that's a cream color, one in dark brown and one in a Maroon/red( matches my living rooms color theme) I originally was going to use a stencil to put cherry blossoms on it but I tried to do it earlier on scrap fabric and it was not pretty.I don't want to ruin the panels. any ideas for idiot proof ways to decorate them without making them look cheap or do you think that stair stepping them on the wall will look
ok without anything on them.
any ideas welcome.
