  • Can you suggest small places to stay in French-speaking Montreal?

I'm a professor of ESL at a community college in the midwest United States, and I manage the foreign language department. I've been studying French for a while, and I'd like to take a vacation in Montreal or its environs. I'd be interested in being near a college or university, but that's not a requirement. I'd simply like to find places to interact with people. As such, I'd prefer a pension over a hotel.

Thank you in advance. No rude answers, if you please.

  • Edco Sprint hub compatible lock ring tool?

I built up a set of wheels with Edco Sprint hubs.

However, upon trying to use my Park tool to tighten the lock ring on the SRAM 10-speed cassette (Shimano-compatible), I found that there was not enough clearance to insert the Park tool.

I have talked to the distributor who sold me the hubs, and he has conferred with the new owners of Edco. It seems that there is a proprietary tool out there for this hub. And the company doesn't have one and the distributor doesn't have one.

Does any of you afficionados out there have one of these or know where to get one?

Without the tool, I have a beautiful, light piece of art.

  • development and cost of a velodrome?

I grant that this is a huge question, but the closest velodrome is three hours away from me. I think it would be pretty cool to build a basic local outdoor track.

Any ideas on the composition of the track surface? Length? How much such a project might cost (beyond the initial purchase of land and design). Design aspects you would include.

I know it's a very large question, but it's intriguing. Who knows, maybe someday I can get it done.
