I go to college in a small town. I am interested in television/film writing especially comedy. I know a lot of successful comedy writers/actors get involved in improv in college, I guess it's not really a requirement (since there is no definite formula for success) but I think it would help. I'm thinking about starting an improv group, to get some experience, plus it would be fun, but I've never done improv before. There's no comedy clubs, or improv groups/classes anywhere near here, so i'm kind of at a cross roads. Any tips on starting a group? Things I should/should not to do?

I've played Electrics Bass Guitar for a little over a year. And recently I have had a hard time plucking my strings, when I pluck the string twice like eighth notes, the sound comes out really muted and sort of thumpy. My Bass is a Ibanez GSR190, and my amp is a Ibanez IBZ15B amp. My bass is in tune, and I have not bought new strings for it since I bought it. I set the amp to whatever sounds good to me, and I don't have special effects or pedals. I teach myself so I can't ask a music teacher, I play the electric guitar and piano too, so I'm not ignorant to music, I know music theory, and I can read tabs and chords. I think i need new strings but I'm not sure.

I can't get high enough, I can jump far, but i just can't get enough vertical height! Any tips?

My lips hurt alot when I play trumpet cause I have braces, and chapstick eases the pain alot. Is it okay to wear chapstick while playing trumpet? Or can it mess up something inside your trumpet or mothpiece?

I've been performing cartwheels using my left hand for a long time. Should I switch to using my right hand, or is it okay to use my left hand? And, will this be a problem once I start doing Aerials?

I play acoustic guitar. I'm teaching myself guitar, so I DON'T HAVE A TEACHER. Whenever I play a chord I always end up hitting a string I'm not supposed to hit. Do your hands eventually adjust and stop hitting the wrong strings or is there something I should do?
