  • Salad recipe featured on Allrecipes May 2011?

A few weeks ago I tried a salad recipe from Allrecipes.com that was featured on their main page. I though I saved the recipe but cannot find it now. The salad itself was plain and allowed for any fruits you chose to be added, however there was an onion dressing recipe given with the salad that was great. It featured onions, sugar, vegetable oil and vinegar (cider maybe)? Does anyone have the name or URL for this recipe? Thanks

  • Growing potted Orchids help, please?

3 weeks ago I received a potted Cymbidium Orchid plant, since that time the plant seems to be looking worse. I was hoping for some advice.

The Orchid is sitting in the pot it came in, which appears to be a plastic pot nested inside of a decorative shell. The decorative shell/pot does not seem to have any vents for drainage. I cannot lift the plastic pot out the shell to see if it drains. However, I would hope that it would not be sold in a pot which was not conductive for growing it.

I have placed the plant by a window which has bright light (but not usually direct light) for most of the day.

I have been watering the plant about 9 oz of water (a normal water glass) 1-2 times a week, however the top inch of the soil always feels dry to me.

The problems: So far 4 of the blooms (all on one stem) have slowly shriveled and fallen off. The stem itself has started to turn yellow. On the second stem, 2 orchids have started to shrivel, however 4 remain healthy looking and I'd like to keep it that way.

Besides letting me know if you see any problems in my care of the orchids and things I should be doing differently, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know if any pruning is needed for orchids to keep them growing and producing new blooms.

    Thank you!!

  • American going to an Indain wedding... what to wear?

Hello. I was recently invited to a traditional Indian wedding and do not know what to wear. Although the wedding is in America at the bride's hometown, it is going to be a very traditional weekend long Indian wedding. I know that wearing American clothes isn't a problem, but I also have Indian friends who can lend me Saris and the such. I'd love to get dressed up traditionally, but I'm worried people I don't know will think I look out of place or like the 'White House party' crashers.

  • Virginia unemployment- how many work contacts are needed each week?

Hello. To receive unemployment in Virginia you are required to "Make an active search for work each week. ... you must contact several employers each week in an effort to find work. Résumés may be used only if it is the usual and customary manner of finding work in that occupation". Several times on the VEC website I have seen them state that there is a minimum number of work contacts that must be met, however after searching the site I cannot find what this minimum is. I'd love to know, also please let me know if you know from experience or they URL for where you found this number.

Less important is whether or not you are required to join the VEC's work placement service. The website says in several places that you are, however personal friends told me it is not required.

    Thank you all!

  • Cinderella hairstyle?

Hi, I have a Cinderella costume and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on how to do my hair. I bought a blue headband like the character, but I do not have bangs. Also, I have naturally blond hair so when I try to pull it up in a ponytail, it seems flat and thin. (one more thing, I'm not great at doing my own upstyle, so if you have suggestions on how to actually do the hair after I pick a style let me know too) Thanks

  • Should I be Cinderella for Halloween?

Hello, I have a Cinderella costume from when I was in high school. It's a long dress, but it doesn't fit well (is a bit boxy) and the fabric is kinda cheap and itchy.

I plan to wear it to my work event because it is work approparte. My question is should I also wear it to a regular halloween party (i'm 24, and althought I dont want to look slutty I know that most of the girls going will be and I still want to look attractive next to them.)

  • Funny Joke!?

I read this on yahoo jokes yesterday and thought it was one of the funniest jokes I've herad! I figured I'd post it again today since the board is kinda slow. Star if you like!

An American goes into a bar and sits down next to an English guy.

The American notices that the English guy has a huge BIC Lighter.

The American says, "Wow cool lighter, where did you get it?"

The english guy says, "A genie granted me one wish when I rubbed this bottle".

"Wow", says the American, "Can I have a go?"

    "Sure", Says the Englishman.

The american rubs the bottle and the genie comes out, "You have one wish" Says the genie.

The American wishes for a million bucks, the genie grants the wish.

About 5 minutes later a load of ducks come into the bar, there are thousands of them.

The American says "I don't believe this I wished for a million bucks, not a million ducks".

The englishman says "Well do you really think i wished for a 12 inch BIC?".

  • Job in Reston, what area should I move to?

I am graduating college in Dec and I have a job in Reston, VA after graduation. I am looking for suggestions of areas to move to. I am looking for an area that will have alot of other young professionals and things to do. (This summer I lived within walking distance to Main St. in Royal Oak, MI and would love to find a similar area). I have several friends in the DC area so I would like easy access into the city so I can visit them.

Ideally, I need an affordable and interesting area for a young person with an easy commute to both Reston and into the city.

  • Apple wireless adapter?

I have a 2001 ibook with G3 and X.2.8 . Over the next three months I will be living in a building with a wireless network. Are there any adaptars I can buy that will work on my computer without paying too much money?

I've been looking at one I found at www.afterthemac.com, and www.macwireless.com, also the D-link DWL-G122 (which I read I can use, but d-link doesn't mention it being apple compatible). I'm not sure which products would work and which need drivers that they don't make for Macs. Any type of reciever which can connect to my computer's usb or eithernet port would be helpful.

What about an airport card? If I remove the keyboard from my laptop there appears to be a space for a card and a wire to connect to it.

Thank you for help you can give me. And I know alot of you hate macs, but I'm not about to buy a new computer so don't tell me that the solution is to switch to windows.

  • Does anyone else think yahoo should make a seperate message board for people that want to meet people to date?

I'm sick of all these people on yahoo that post 'will you date me?' 'am i pretty' 'check out my myspace'. They should just get life... or at least stop boring me with their insecurity. I sure as heck don't want to date anyone who has to use yahoo to meet people.

I just started a new job, and when i started there was an email sent out from the boss encouraging everyone to work 10 hours a day and then take today (friday) off so memorial day weekend will be a 4 day weekend.
