I don't understand this word problem. May you please help me?!

A petrochemical company must decide whether to fill a specialty order for one of its customers. Its cost (and therefore profit) depends on the quality of the raw material it has on hand to make the chemical. The firm expects to earn $50,000 from the order if the mater is high quality (H) but will lose $30,000 if it is low quality (L). The firm's engineers estimate these probabilities to be .32 and .68 respectively. Before making its decision, the firm can test the material with one of two outcomes, "favorable and "unfavorable". A favorable test increases the chance of H to .5, while an unfavorable result reduces it to .2. The likelihood of a favorable test is .4. Determine the expected value of this test.

I'm pretty young 24 y/o. I have no idea how to invest, and I don't want to pay a broker to invest my money. I just want my money to grow- what should I do? What is a good APY? Also, I've read about a "term share certificate" , "money market accounts" and "mutual funds". I don't know what to do? Can you guys help and tell me what type of interest rates are good for these types of accounts or if these accounts don't yield any good returns and if I should invest somewhere else.

I'm reviewing for a test and one of the questions is: A survey of 865 voters in one state reveals that 408 favor approval of an issue before the legislature. Construct the 95% confidence interval for the true proportion of all voters in the state who favor approval.

I am able to use the TI-84 but I don't know which Test to use. 1-PropZTest, 1-PropZInterval, Chi-Squared Test, 1-Sampztest, etc...

Is there a way to figure out which function to use for different tests. Also, my professor requires to draw a graph, so would the critical region be 0.05 or 0.025 shaded?
