I am looking for affordable legal assistance. This would be considered a third party custody case I believe. I MUST fight this fight but have very limited financial resources. Anyone know where to get help?

Here's the story...I began babysitting a little boy in August. In September he arrived with a handprint across his face allegedly at the hands of his mom's live in boyfriend. Authorities were brought in, they gave custody to the father. The father kept him for 3 wks and then decided he could no longer afford to care for him so he shipped him back to mom. Mom took baby and then decided to marry the alleged abuser.

Two weeks ago DCFS decided to take the child from both parents. I went to court and asked the judge, GAL and DCFS if they would allow him to stay with me while things are sorted out. To my amazement they all agreed and gave me temp custody for the childs sake.

I know that they could change that decision at any given moment and I could lose him to either the state or an unfit parent.

I need help to make sure this child is safe and in a secure home environment. Please, if you know where I can find help let me know.

I promised this little boy the day he showed up with that mark I would not walk away and would not let him be hurt again. I will fight my hardest for him but I know I will need help to accomplish my goal.

Where can I find that help without the financial means to go through a huge court battle? Do I even have a chance?
