5 AnswersOther - United Kingdom1 decade agoWhat risks are there in having Bunion corrective surgery?
I have had pain in my feet for a few years now. Ive always worn sensible shoes (not too tight, not too high). I think it started when I used to do ballet that caused the swelling/pain. My GP first referred me to a podiatrist who gave me customised orthotics. They've helped but still find my feet painful and not always when I am on my feet or when wearing shoes. My GP then referred me onto an orthopedic surgeon who is happy to operate. He informed me I have the choice to have the operation done now, or leave it for 10 years time. I am in my 20s so would rather sort it out now whilst I don't have any major commitments. The surgeon did mention a few risks that can be involved. Some are typical of any surgery, however one is deep vein thrombosis.I have a type 2 heart murmur. So it has made me think again even though I would like to be rid of pain. What other risks can be involved with surgery of this kind? What experiences have been gained through people who have had this operation? Thanks!
3 AnswersOther - Health & Beauty1 decade agoTravel/Spend/Pay off debs?
This question is hypothetical. Well, kind of.
If you had around about £5000 (Approx $10000) what would you do with it if:
If travel were the option, You would go to a remote poor town and help the locals out, and gain personal experiences. If so, where would you choose?
If it were to spend, what would you spend it on?
Pay off debts: Not necessarily the case. But if you did have minor debt (£1-2k).
I'm just curious...

27 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoWhy do people use an electric toothbrush as they would use a manual toothbrush?
It just seems a bit pointless having an 'electric' toothbrush. Why don't they just use a 'toothbrush'???

12 AnswersOther - Social Science1 decade agoBankers and Human Resourcers.... attention please!!!?
I have been offered two jobs at the same time.
One is to work in a bank as a 'customer service representative'.
The Human resources is working as a 'recruitment consultant'.
I have no experience in either field.
Obviously I am aware that everyone is different, every job is different, every environment is different.
All these factors depend on your personality to how you respond to specific tasks/jobs. But I am completely stuck on which one to chose.
Just wondered if you have any advice/experiences from within these environments/types of jobs that you could share.
What was it that made you end up in your job? Any regrets? What are the things you enjoy? Is Monday a tough day for you... or do you love every day of the week?
9 AnswersCareers & Employment1 decade agoPremonitions.... Experiences, beliefs, opinions... all welcome!!?
I have experienced quite a few premonitions. Some major, some minor... some serious some amusing...
They are not deja-vu. Some have been about car accidents, graduations, knowing people at uni before I had gone, etc... And no, I'm not wierd... They just happen!! :D
Just wondered about your opinion on them... Have you ever experienced any? Do you believe they happen? Has someone ever explained a premonition they have had? What was it and what was your response??
5 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoUnusual needed...!?
I have been with my boyfriend just coming up to a year... and I want to get the man I love something really special. He is really difficult to buy for... he is one of those types of people what doesn't need much stuff and lives to the minimal. As it happens... he has everything he needs.
I'd like to get him something unusual but something he will really appreciate, and that will last him a long time (if possible)... I know its really difficult for you to answer, and I shoudn't really be asking, but I would really appreciate ideas... I could use the process of elimination... :D
I have just got a new job, so cash it tight... I'm looking to spend anything up to £100.
Cheers for any ideas!!! :D
14 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoBurpsie-daisy??
Okay, a bit of a strange one here...
For all my life I have never been able to burp. And you're wondering why I want to burp, i take it??
I have to completely avoid certain drinks, like Coke, etc. If I do get a build-up of gas in my oesophagous (I think thats how you spell it...), I get really sharp and irritating pain in my chest... If I was able to burp, I would be fine....
I've tried the usual... 'swallowing air', etc.... but no luck.... any ideas??? Cheers!

Has anyone taken this or knows anybody who has? Any experiences or advantages/disadvantages that you know of from taking this? Does anyone know of any alternative therapies/treatment/foods that I can have instead?
5 AnswersAlternative Medicine2 decades agoKeeping in touch with an Ex... Is it good or bad news for both you and a new partner?
Is it wrong to keep in touch with an ex, even if you ended on good terms? And what about if you keep in touch with your ex and begin a new relationship? Is it too intimidating for the new partner, or is it okay, so long as honesty and trust is involved? Or is it better to break up the friendship with the ex to allow yourself to change?
