  • Ideas for narrow rock garden?

I have a 4 foot space between my house and the sidewalk. 2 1/2 ft x about 30 ft has been a rock garden with coneflower, snow on the mountain and another flower that is ferny at the bottom and has tall white and pale pink flowers. I have left this for the past 11 years and next spring will be redoing it. Within that space is a spigot, and 2 window wells. There is edging and the other 1 1/2 ft is grass. The edging is straight. Any ideas for this space?? I like the rock because I don't have to pull weeds as much as we are gone most weekends in the summer. We are just looking for a way to change the space? Any ideas are welcome

  • Color Suggestions?

I have a nice dark burgundy couch. My walls are antique white right now and are in desperate need of some color. It is not a big room and want to stay with medium to lighter shades. I want something that will warm up the room. It is an old house. All accessories in the room will be new so the only color I have to work with is the burgundy.

Any suggestions on wall colors. I was thinking about going with a light to medium brown. All other suggestions will be considered.

    Thanks!

  • Stained glass window and curtains?

The top 1/4 of my living room window is stained glass. I don't want to cover it up so I put blinds starting below the stained glass and have a wide tension rod with a very small valance to cover the top of the blinds. I want to remove the blinds and put up sheers with curtain panels along the side starting 1/4 of the way down the window so the stained glass still shows. Are there any decorators out there that have seen sheers and curtains that are hung lower on the window?? Does anyone else have any ideas? It is the picture window of my house and faces the front. I have to be able to cover it somehow

  • Any professionals have an opinion on this stock?

    Brown & Brown (BRO)

I have been holding some shares for a few years now with constant increase. They split over a year ago and the stock was stagnant. Now, it has been decreasing. I am far from losing money on this stock but would like some opinions if you know what is happening with this stock.

    Thanks!

  • Dog sticks nose through crate door leaving scratches on her nose?

I have a 13 year old mini dachshund that has started relieving herself in the house. I crate my two other minis during the day (I come home for lunch every day). The 13 year old is sticking her nose thru the door and it is scraping up the top of her nose. I bought nylon mesh and put over the door with plastic cable ties and she ripped it all apart. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can up on her door so she doesn't hurt herself. Any thoughts are appreciated.

When the door to the crate is open she goes in there a lays down so she is used to the crate and likes it until the door is closed.

  • Staining tips?

I enjoy staining and varnishing but am always looking for tips on easier or better ways to do it. Can you let me know the steps you use to take you project from raw wood to the finished product and what you use. What grit sandpaper do you use on each step.

    Thanks!

  • Has anyone seen a standalone policy for hottub freezing?

I am wondering if any other agents out there have seen a standalone policy for a hottub freezing up. It is covered on an HO5 but not all homes are eligible for an HO-5. The freezing is excluded under the special personal property coverage. Any help is appreciated.
