  • Advice on home remedies or ideas to help me treat my little boy with ADHD?

I took my son to a crisis center (voluntarily) after a terrible incident about 2 weeks ago. So far, my son has not had a one on one session with anyone there. He went in for his assessment and that lasted for about 10 minutes before the counselor had him leave the room and start on me about medicating him. I am not interested in medicating him and told the counselor that I would prefer to have him in counseling for at least 1 year before the topic of medication is brought up again.

I've been doing my homework and understand that Omega's help. do any of you know anything else that may help me help my son? He's more on the hyper side.........very hyper!

    Thanks in advance!

  • A work related question for full time working/ stay at home moms? Please help me!?

I have been put in a situation and I am so torn as to what to do. My husband and I work for the same company, but in different departments. I'm in management, so I know alot of things that I can not discuss with him.

I was informed that he (my husband) was going to be let go because we're doing away with the department he works in. I was told this in total confidentiality. My problem is simple. My position provides our housing. My utilities are paid and so is my rent by the company. I am allowed to have my 3 month old with me all day while I work (and breastfeed on demand) so I have it made. I know that if I tell my husband, he will go in and get hot headed and quit and take me out with him. We are not in the position at this time to move. How horrible am I for not having told him? I feel so horrible because I made a vow to this man, but at the same time, I have 2 children to take care of and protect. What would you do?

    Thanks,

    Wendi

You moms have never let me down!

  • I need help ladies!! It's a work issue? You haven't steered me wrong yet!?

I am a property manager and have 54 units in my complex. It has been brought to my attention that as of March 3rd, I will be managing this other complex as well, as an interim. Apperently, my boss went to this complex to distribute memos to all the tenants. When he was done, he brought me this memo, which stated that I would be the new manager! I was literally the last to know. Well, this complex has 40 units and is completely trashed out and completely ghetto. (I apologize if I offend.) He sat in my office and not 1 single word came up about a pay raise or compensation.

I will be seeing him tomorrow morning at a court hearing on this new property because I will be testifying on behalf of the company.

How do I ask for more money? I want to be as nice and sincere as I always am, but I want this man to know I'm not as dumb as he thinks I am.

Here's my major issue..........I exclusively breastfeed!! Where I am now, it's not an issue. Now it will be. How do I do this?

  • Parents of more than 1 child...............PLEASE help us out?

We are having some issues with my son, he's 4. He recently started a private preschool after being on the waiting list for over a year. He has been coming home from school with :

    1. Lets pretend you shoot me with a gun filled with blood and I'll play like I'm dead. ( He then drops on the ground like he's been shot).

My response was, Yeah, I don't think so! We can pretend with a water gun and I'll shoot water on you! Guns are bad, yadda yadda, that whole speal. I do not allow play guns whatsoever for personal reasons.

    2. Serious little attitude and a really smart mouth! Is this a phase? What the heck happened to my sweetheart?

    3. He kicked a little boy in the balls 2 times in a row. ( We were not told the whole story as to whether the other boy was hitting him or if he just did it to do it).

He was put in time out as soon as he got home from school and he was not allowed to watch cartoons or play his V smile for the entire evening.

  • GRANDPARENTS, can I have some input please?....?

I am a 32 year old, married mother of 2 little boys (4 years old next month, and an 8 week old baby). My mother moved to California 15 years ago, and I relocated to the same area as she after Hurricane Katrina, when my 4 year old was just 16 months old. He (my 4 year old) has come down with a terrible cold and when I spoke to my mother yesterday, she like to bite my head off for not calling her to tell her he was sick! She then insisted she HAD to come and pick him up to take care of him! Once she got here, she acted as if I was the most horrible mother in the worldand said things like, "I can't beleive you didn't call me to help" and "What the hell are you thinking, that YOU can do it all?" (Mind you, the hubby has a cold as well, the baby and I are fine).

I do work full time, from home, as a property manager so it's never a problem if he is sick. He just stays home with me. His temp. was 100.8 andI teated his fever and cold and all seemed fine. He was acting and playing like he

  • How do you get all your calories? I'm breastfeeding...?

Since I had my baby 7 weeks ago (along with a 4 year old) , I don't seem to have an appetite and sometimes I find I just don't eat. I know it's interfering with my milk supply, so sometimes I have to supplement which I really don't want to continue. I don't feel stressed out or anything, just have the typical hectic lifestyle of working (stay at home working full time), kids, wifey, milk vessel, cook and the list goes on! In my desk I have trail mix, granola bars and a few other munchies, but I know I'm not eating enough. What are some REALLY quick things I can get to eat on the run?

    Thanks!

  • What is the proper method of thawing breastmilk?

Regarding a previous question I asked, I have decided to bring my 5 week old to my friends funeral services. I have been pumping like a crazy lady and I put all of it in the freezer. I will need it for this evening and am wondering about what time I should take it out the freezer (I'm in California and it's 8:30am).

Once it's thawed, how did I heat it up? Do I run it under hot water? How long will it be good for, how many hours?

May sound like a silly question, but I'm new to this.

    Thanks,

  • Should I take my baby with me to a funeral service?

I just got a phone call about my friend. She has been in the hospital for a while now battling cancer and passed away this morning. My mom will be going with me to the services and she is the only person I would ever ask to watch my baby, he's 5 weeks old.

I don't know what to do. Should I bring him? If I bring him and he cries, is it inappriate to nurse him during the service? Oh my god, I can't beleive she's gone. What is a mother to do?

    Thanks,

    Wendi
