I'm thinking of planning a week long trip to Arizona, how expensive can it be?
I always wanted to visit Arizona. I know there are quite a few things that can be done in the state and would like to see the big sights as well as see some of the cities. It would be limited to 5-7 days. So, how expensive can the trip be? What is a good time to go?
4 AnswersPhoenix10 years agoMaking a trip to Washington DC, any suggestions?
My brother and I (29 and 19) are planning a trip to DC towards the end of May-beginning of June. Any suggestions as to what to do or where to stay? Is it worth getting a rental car? Any sights that should be a definite must?
4 AnswersWashington, D.C.1 decade agoIf I wanted to visit Washington DC, how many days should I be there?
I'd like to go to Washington DC within the next couple months. It would be the first time for both my brother and I and we'd like to look at most of everything there is. We were planning on flying there. How many days would it require to see what DC has to offer? What about the surrounding area?
3 AnswersWashington, D.C.1 decade agoHas anyone taken the Air Force Course 9, NCOA CDC test?
Course 9 is the PME required for all E-6 to be promoted to E-7 if they don't go to the NCO Academy. I am a reservist and am coming up for this test since they don't send us to the NCO Academy. I'm curious as to how the test is set up. Is it multiple choice like the 5-level and 7-level CDC's? Is it fill in the blank? What should I expect from it? I'm supposed to be taking the test in about a week and am anxious to find out how to fully prepare.
5 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoWhy is my 870 so hard to pump/cycle now?
The shotgun in question is a Remington 870. Out of the box it shot and cycled fine. Now, I shoot and try to pump but about half way through the pump the action gets very tough or hard and makes it difficult to finish the "pump". This usually results in a me not being able to eject the shell until I pull really hard. I've taken it apart and fully cleaned it a couple time and it softened ever so slightly. It still requires some effort to pull back the forearm to eject/cycle the shells. Any input? I've tried various ammo brands and the two acceptable sizes but the pump is still hard to work.
10 AnswersHunting1 decade agowhich is a better carry .38 or .357?
I've carried .380, 9mm, .40 and .45 for concealed carry. I'm interested in purchasing a revolver in either .38 or .357. Any suggestions as to which would be easier to carry, practice with, and hopefully never but shoot in a situation? Any experience with this?
15 AnswersHunting1 decade agois it possible to put a radio from a 2007 vehicle into a 2006 vehicle?
I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500. I want to replace the factory radio for one that plays MP3's. I've checked the common stores and places and the selection for headsets are limited. I was curious, can I put a headset from a 2007 silverado/tahoe/yukon into my 2006 silverado? Will I need anything extra? any codes i'll need to have?
1 AnswerCar Audio1 decade agoanyone tried a Jet Performance Chip or Module?
Anyone tried one? Does it really make a difference? I'm thinking about ordering one for my 2006 Silverado V8 5.3L. I already have a K&N intake and replaced my cat back exhaust. I plan on getting headers for it but wanted to see if the chip/module would make a difference first. Any feedback and experience you have is welcomed.

12 AnswersHunting1 decade agowhat is a good mountain bike fork?
I'm looking for a new fork to replace my Marzocchi Dirt Jumper 3 which I bought in 2004. It was a good fork and has served me well but its time to move on to something different. I've transitioned to more of a trail rider than freeride or dirt jumping. I'm looking for a good fork, preferably under $400-600 with 4-5 inches of travel. Most importantly though, I would like it to accept at least a 2.4 inch tire up front. I like big fronts and fast backs so I'd like to keep my 2.4/2.5 inch tires up front. Any suggestions are much appreciated... FOX, Manitou, Marzocchi, RockShox, etc.
4 AnswersCycling1 decade agowhen building an AR-15, how do you know which size....?
Which size buffer tube do I need to purchase? I am building a Rock River Arms Lower Receiver, my first build, and I don't know which buffer size to purchase. Is there a difference in threading? I know there is both Mil-spec and Commercial on the diameter of the buffer tube itself but how do I know which i need to thread into the receiver?

Any and all advice regarding the subject is welcomed. Thanks.
11 AnswersHunting1 decade agowhy did the military choose .308 for its precision rifles in the past and now?
I know this will probably bring up arguments of how the .30-06 is better and the .270 is almost the same... blah.. blah...blah. We've all heard that and read it multiple times by now. My question is, why did the military decide to use the .308 or 7.62 NATO as its basic precision rifle round? Why not the .30-06? Or the .270? Both were around longer and before the creation of the .308. Why not a a bigger round? Any ideas? What does the .308 have that the .270 or .30-06 not have?
18 AnswersHunting1 decade agowhats a good caliber for a long rifle?
I'm interested in purchasing a rifle. I'm looking at either the Remington 700 SPS varmit or the Savage 10 FP or Savage 111FXP3 package. I'd like to keep the cost low seeing as how i'd still need a scope and mounts/rings so the savage package looks appealing.
My question is which is a good caliber to buy? I plan to spend more time with it at the range than in the woods. Hunting would be more of a secondary purpose and targets a primary. When used for hunting, it would be for white tail deer.
I already own a couple pistols and shotguns as well as AR's and varmint rifles but am trying to own at least one from every category (revolvers/pistols/semi auto, shotguns, etc). What is good? 270? 308? 30-06? 7mm? 300 mag? 25-06? 243?
What are your opinions of the calibers you've used? Which would be a good way to go?
13 AnswersHunting1 decade agoWhich rifle should I buy? Which are you familiar with? ?
I'm interested in getting a rifle. I'm leaning towards a Remington 700 but unsure of the model as of yet. I've also been looking at Savage and Mossberg riflles too.
My question is this, based on your experience, which rifle would be a good purchase? I'm looking for a .308 just because i'm familiar with the caliber but i could be convinced into something different. I'd like to be able to take most game down but still enjoy shooting it at the range every now and then. I'd also like to keep it under $700 seeing as how I'd still need to purchase a decent scope and obviously a good amount of ammo. Plus, i could always modify it a bit later on.
Which do you own? How has it worked out for you? Would you get a different rifle if given the chance? How much did you pay? Was it worth it?
14 AnswersHunting1 decade agoquestion about AR15 upper receivers?
I have an olympic arms lower receiver which is ready for an upper. My question is this though, can I put any chambered receiver as long as it fits the ar lower? Meaning, all the uppers in 7.62 or 6.8, or even all the 5.56/223, can I just drop them in? Will my lower work with any of these uppers or am i limited?
2 AnswersHunting1 decade agoanyone in FL, how long did it take to get your concealed weapons license?
After turning in the paperwork, how long before you hear anything regarding your license? Did you get a letter saying its in process or some kind of acknowledgment? How long before they "cashed" the check? I sent my package about 3 weeks ago. I didn't know if they sent out a letter saying something about processing or if the checks get cashed right away or later on or anything. Any info you have is much appreciated. Thanks.
3 AnswersHunting1 decade agowill the post office still deliver my envelope even though....?
I sent a large envelope to someone. here is the thing though, I purchased the "stamp" from one of the kiosks in the post office. That "stamp" I just slapped it on the envelope. It was one of the ones that looks almost like a shipping/package stamps kinda like the ones you print out when you sell something through paypal. Anyway, I just slapped it on the envelope. It did have a space for the address to be written but I i figured they could just read the printed address on the envelope (big green lettering). Also, the envelope didn't have a place for return address so I didn't write one either.
Long story short, Large Business Envelope sent to government office. Envelope had pre-printed address in big green letters. I slapped a "printed stamp" from kiosk on it without writing the address again. No return address written either.
The question is, would the post office still deliver my envelope even though i forgot to do the above mentioned?

Or should I go in a different direction and buy a Remington 700 or Savage?
