  • Vegan & Vegetarian Men - how do you feel about Burger King?

Okay, serious question. Burger King's advertising strategy appears to focus very heavily on the supposed link between consumption of meat and masculinity. They've even just brought out an aftershave that's supposed to smell of "seduction, with a hint of flame broiled beef". Do you feel it's unfair of them to cast the aspersion that by chosing not to eat meat you're some how less of a man? I'm asking as a Vegan by the way.

  • Is anyone going to the Bristol Vegan Fair tomorrow?

Hi all, in case you hadn't heard, the biggest vegan fair in the world is happening this weekend in Bristol. We're playing on the acoustic stage at 4pm tommorrow (Sunday) and would love to see loads of fellow veggies there.

  • Pug 306 heaters not working?

The heaters in my 306 XTDT are not working. They're blowing out cold air no matter where the dial for heat is. Not sure if this is connected to the fan issue I asked about or something else. I'm not keen on paying a mechanic if it's something simple to resolve. Thanks. H.

  • Fans running after engine switched off - Pug 306 xtdt?

The fans at the front of my M Reg Pug 306 xtdt (Diesel) have started running while I'm driving then not stopping when I switch the engine off. I'm presuming they are working to cool the engine, but it's only recently they've started to do this, should I add coolant?

    Thanks,

    H.

  • How many vegans on here with a degree or other form of higher education?

I just want to dispell the myth that vegans have something wrong with their brains because of what they eat!

  • How can someone who eats road kill call themselves a vegetarian? See the article on Jamie Oliver's new show.

This gentleman who should generally be applauded for foraging for food looses my respect totally for claiming that because he didn't see or hear the road kill being killed and it wasn't killed on his behalf, he's still a vegetarian. Surely people eating badger meat balls should be totally separated from those comitted to preserving the rights of all animal life, including wildlife.

  • Free operations for obese children?

Just read on Yahoo News that in order to stop obesity spiraling out of control weight loss operations will be offered free to obese children on the NHS. What happened to educating children about food, nutrition and exercise? Surely education and real information about what various food do is the first step rather than mutilating children by operation? As someone who has never had to struggle too much with weight I just don't understand how these kids are actually eating enough to get as big as they are. As a vegan, I'm concerned that a meat heavy western diet is killing this country slowly but surely and things need to drastically change, now.

  • Why would someone report an answer that had already been chosen as the best answer by the asker?

The reason given was simply "Other". The answer contained only horticultural terms, no swear words and it was the asker's favourite answer. I'm not bothered about the points, I just want to help people out. I'm bothered that an answer that the asker liked best has now been removed for no good reason.

Darier's disease or Darier-White disease is a rare hereditary skin disease only effecting 1 in every 100,000 people in the UK. I've never met anyone else who has it appart from family members so if you have it too it would good to know you.
