Problem after removing ICE Cyber Crime Center ransomware?
This occurred on two dell inspiron windows 7 computers:
After removing the ICE Cyber Crime Center ransomware with Hitmanpro Kickstart I am no longer able to boot to windows. I only can get the screen where you can choose to run startup repair or start windows normally. Both choices cause computers to automatically restart themselves over and over. Tried to restore one to factory condition and after going through all the recovery disks and restarting, the same screen with startup repair and start windows normally appears. It did not reformat. So I tried Killdisk to reformat it and same result. It returned to the same screen with startup repair and start windows normally.
I am so hoping that someone out there can help.
2 AnswersSecurity7 years agoFacebook problem after changing password?
I recently changed my password and since then all my contacts, history, and pictures are gone and it says I just joined Facebook on that date. This occurs on any computer I sign into. But, when one of my original contacts opens my profile on their Facebook all my contacts and pictures and history are there. Not quite sure what to do to correct this problem. I did report this to Facebook and I was sent a generic response which recreated the same problem. Can anyone out there help?
Thanks in advance!

5 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoStart up problem with Win XP?
this computer has problems withWin XP start up. Sometimes it starts just fine and works fine. Other times it starts and displays the background with no icons and no start bar so I have to restart it with the power button. Right before this happens I usually get a message saying: "to help protect your computer windows has closed this program, run DLL and an App" Now this computer was infected with several malware programs, but have been cleaned with malwarebytes, registry key deletions and finding the .exe folder and deleting that along with stopping processes. So it should be clean. Malwarebyes scans without any infections. I also scanned with SuperAntiSpyware and showed no infection. Any ideas on how to correct these start up problems?
5 AnswersSoftware1 decade agohas anyone ever heard of having removed Norton 360 and it comming back by itself?
Norton 360 was expired and blocking my internet connection, went to add/remove programs, could not remove it. Finally removed it with the norton removal tool and a few hours later while on the internet it came back and I lost internet connectivity again. Will run the removal tool again, but how can I prevent it from coming back again?

This computer is really acting up.......it won't start in regular mode, just safe mode. When I try to run a diagnostic test on the hard drive (spin rite) all the text comes out in random letters so I can not read anything. Does anyone have any idea what the heck is going on here? I ran malware bytes on it before and it was clean, but I am running it again right now. What else can I do?

When I boot into safe mode the computer just restarts, and of course to start windows normally causes total pc defender 2010 to take over.
6 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoWhat can cause windows xp clean install to be very slow, sometimes stall, then continue install?
the install is very slow, but is progressing. It has been about 10 hours now. What could cause this? Could it be the hard drive? Should I just wait it out?
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoI disabled data execution prevention and still getting a message?
I have been getting a data execution prevention message so I disabled it, but the message is still poping up.............to help protect your computer windows has closed this program: generic host process for win32 services. Prior to this message my computer was infected with "windows police pro", but that has been cleaned. The computer is free of viruses.......I ran malwarebytes, avg and superantispyware and all are comming up clean now. PS, when I close the window with the message it just comes back! I am running Win XP Home SP3. PSS I turned off the data execution prevention through the boot.ini files

1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agowhy would computer turn on and shut off at random?
I have changed the power supply and the RAM. I cleaned the heat sink and added thermal compound. The cpu fan is working fine. This problem occurs even if I unplug the hard drive. I though of a virus, but figured if it still did it after unplugging the hard drive that was ruled out. I have no graphic card to unplug, it is built into the motherboard. Not sure what else can be done before I just trash it. Any ideas?

4 AnswersDesktops1 decade agocan cmos battery cause computer to restart or shut down at random?
Computer power restarting when turned on or would boot to bios menu then restart or just shutdown completely. Tested the power supply, memory and hard drive…..all were okay. Repositioned the cmos battery and it booted to windows and stayed on for quite some time before shutting down again. Could it be the cmos battery is dying or was the repositioning the battery just a fluke?
