Why don't my AA alkaline batteries work?
We have an older Columbus Electric home thermostat that has been indicating LO batteries. The AA alkaline batteries that are on there are over 5 years old! When we put in brand new Energizer Max batteries the unit does not work. We have tried different packages of Energizers, checked and rechecked to make sure the connections are met, and yes they are installed in the right manner. When we put the old batteries back in they work!
Is there any difference in AA Alkaline batteries that may be causing this?
