  • What would you do in my situation?

Have almost 4 yr old son, Jack...down the street we have a neighbor/playmate/friend, 5 yr old girl, Sara whom we play with almost daily and good friends with Mom. My niece, Renee babysat Sara today and she says to Renee..."Sometimes I don't like Jack. Why? asks Renee, Sara says, because he's poor and his skin color is different than mine. He's brown and I'm not, that's why". Renee, not quite sure what to say to this does say, "that's not nice to say". Me, as the mother of Jack who is half Hawaiian/white and father who is white/mexican...not sure how to approach this. Most likely will tell my friend what her daughter said but will also feel kinda uncomfortable and wonder if this is something that a 5 yr old just says (which I truly don't believe) or is it a true feeling that she has heard in her household?! What would u do? Thanks for viewing my ?

  • Light fixtures-brushed nickel?

Does anyone know if it's possible or have ever tried to paint brushed nickel to say a bronzed/aged iron like texture? I'm looking to save money so instead of buying all new light fixtures was hoping that it'd be possible to paint them.

Thanks for any advise. Can't seem to find anything w/an online search.

  • What would you have done?

Walked into nail shop for a pedicure. Checked nail colors for my toes. Picked up a "new" bottle of polish which had a plastic shrink wrap on applicator handle (NEVER seen this before on Opi polishes) polish slips out of wrap dropping onto tile flooring, splashing color all over and some onto lady's purse that was on the foot lip of the manicure table. Okay, that sucked!! The workers in the shop acted like they didn't know what to do, as if I had committed a HUGE crime and didn't offer to help as I began to pick up pieces of glass frm floor. I consoled the lady whose purse is probably runied, she didn't seem too upset but said it was her fave purse. I was dumbfounded as was she on the incident but explained what happend and apologized. 30 minutes later while getting the pedi, lady walks up to me saying purse cost her $40 what am I going to do about it? Not a cofrontational person at all and feeling a bit offended that she asked me this, I said "nothing". It was an accident.

  • Okay, have new job offer, different field, nothing wrong with current job, just want a change...?

So...I'm wanting a change from current job. Grown very close with co-workers & manager but feel bad if I accept other job without telling my manager currently how I feel. I know that she will not want me to leave and will have options for me within the company and that's why I feel bad not chatting with her first. Opinions out there would be helpful.

  • You are happy at current job, but want a change. What do you tell new potential employer in interview?

Cool in current job but am needing a change of pace, it's very possible to change local locations but feel the need to change employers. In interview with potential new employer what reasoning would you give? Don't want to sound "flighty", "just need a change"?
