I was an emergeny department nurse for 10 years, before moving on to become a physician's assistant. I specialize in trauma, parasitic diseases, and wound care, but treat all health related conditions. Currently, I work in a hospital that does both acute care, as well as has a progressive care unit for patients receiving physical therapy. I also worked as a contractor (home repair and remodeling), for 18 years, in a family owned business. I've also been known to have an eclectic, if not somewhat sarcastic, sense of humor. Some of you, who ask certain kinds of question, may have noticed that.

  • 2008 Jeep Patriot Any Good?

I'm thinking of buying a 2008 Jeep Patriot to use as a winter vehicle. I drive approximately 120 miles a day, rain snow, sleet, etc. The Jeep I'm looking at has a clean CarFax, and the interior and exterior appear to be in excellent condition. My concern is the mileage... 99,468. I imagine this must have been mostly highway driving, but I'd like the opinion of others who may have, or currently do, own this vehicle. The BlueBook and NADA values are about $1500-$2000 less than the dealer's (also my regular mechanic) asking price.

    Opinions please and thanks!

  • Mercedes Headlight Socket?

I asked this question a couple of days ago, but left out some needed information. I'm trying again. I have a 2002 C230 Coupe. My dash signaled that a headlamp was out. Upon inspection I found that the socket had melted. The existing socket is attached by 3 wires (1 black, 2 tan). All the replacement parts I've found are sockets with 2 wires attached (1 black, 1 yellow). I imagine I will have to cut off the old socket and splice the new one in. What I'd like to know is how exactly I'd connect the 3 old wires to the 2 new wires. Black to black seems basic enough, but what about the 2 old tan to the 1 new yellow?

    Thanks in advance!

Someone gave an answer about a "plug". The part doesn't plug in. It's a socket with wires attached.

  • mercedes headlight socket?

My dashboard signaled a headlamp out. Upon inspection I found that the socket was melted. I've found replacement parts online that look correct, except for one thing. My socket is attached by 3 wires (2 tan, 1 black). Every replacement part is see only has two (1 yellow, 1 black). Can someone tell me why, and how I would go about rewiring the replacement? Thanks much!
