  • Would this be classified as an underbite?

From the side view, it looks like my lower jaw is protruding out more than normal and it looks even worse when I smile from that angle. On the inside of my mouth, my up and bottom teeth rest right on top of each other (Rubbing my finger on it make me think they are touching dead on).

I was told that it was possible I would need jaw surgery to correct this. Would this be considered an underbite? Would having this surgery be a must or could wires/rubber bands drastically improve the look of my jaw?

    Thanks.

  • Would my underbite need surgery?

I went in to the orthodontics and was told that I have an underbite that they could possibly fix without surgery. I had to get my wisdom teeth removed first, but I took quite a while getting that done. My front teeth rest right on top of each other, but my lower jaw protrudes forward.

I'm extremely anxious about things like surgery and I could probably not go through with it (wisdom teeth were tough enough). Is this a simple thing to correct or do I absolutely need surgery to get my teeth straightened?

I'm going to go see them in a few days...I'd just like to stop worrying.

  • Can't get processor to lock in?

    I have this processor:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...

    and this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...

I raise the latch on the socket and align the processor to the triangles but I cannot lower the latch. This is the one component I have never messed with in a computer and apparently going to be the most troublesome.

It fits in nicely/falls right in. But it won't lock (stops half way). I don't think I need to apply considerable force...what do I do?

  • Are this symptoms a sign of GERD?

I have problems swallowing my food sometimes. It mostly occurs with meats or things that you swallow in bigger chunks.

It always feels like the food gets stuck in the same place and i have to hurry and drink some water to get it down. If I wait too long, then it gets stuck there, literally. Every time I have hit this point, I have trouble breathing and if i swallow water, even the slightest amount to help it go down, I choke and throw everything up.

I don't know if this is related but on 2 occasions, I have been sitting down and start to throw up for no reason. When I catch it and try to swallow it back down, it creates a sort of vacuum and I can't breathe at all. I basically stand up and gasp for air for 30 sec or so until it goes away (i don't throw up).

I also think I have frequent heartburn, but I normally don't notice it since I am so accustomed to having it.

Is this GERD or something else entirely?

  • Where to get a gaming computer?

I'm starting to look for a new gaming computer since my current one isn't holding up to the new games. While the the most hardware demanding games I play are only left 4 dead and team fortress 2, I want a rig that can run these flawlessly (I can get down to 10 fps on these currently).

Is there any manufacturer that I can trust to give me the biggest bang for my buck while giving my a reliable system sure to last? I've looked through dell, alienware, ibuypower and I don't know who to trust, if any.

I know building a system like this is probably best but I'm worried about how everything will fit together once I get the parts. For example, I'm worried my psu cables will be a tight stretch or that my case fans are way too loud. I've upgraded everything within a system but the mobo/cpu, yet I still worry about the problems I can encounter.

With a budget at $1,500, which company should I look into, or what tips can you give me into building my own?

  • Computer overheating from PSU?

I have an amd 4400+ (dual-core) and I had some extreme problems with it overheating. It would reach temps of around 100C with the stock fan which is ridiculous. So I went and bought a heatsink and that seemed to solve the problem (It was hitting 55C at the max). I just checked now after my fans seemed to be getting louder and it's going slightly over 70C.

I'm about 100W - 150W under what I need looking at the requirements of my system (I have a 300W stock psu). Could this be the reason why I'm having difficulties keeping my processor cool? Dust has already been taken care of as well.

My other question is - Is 55C at the max an ideal temp for a dual core such as mine, or is that even on the high side (I do some intensive gaming).

    Thanks.

  • Can my motherboard read more than 2 gigs?

When I got my computer, emachine T5230, I was told it could only read 2 gigs max. But I just ran a test that told me this:

Total Current Physical Memory: 2.00 GB

Total Current Virtual Memory: 4.23 GB

    Maximum Memory Capacity: 8.00 GB

    Memory Devices:

Type: SDRAM* - Speed: MHz - Capacity: 1.00 GB

Type: SDRAM* - Speed: MHz - Capacity: 1.00 GB

Does this mean that I can have up to 8?

    Thanks.

  • What could my right ear pain be?

I get this severe pain in my right ear at certain times and I've had this problem as long as I can remember (I'm 18). When I scream, I get the most horrible pain in my right ear - it's hard to explain what it sounds like. Basically the sound of my voice becomes distorted to me from this. It seems to happen when I am straining a lot with my throat.

I can also vibrate the inside of my ear somehow, while my other ear doesn't. I also can't explain how I can do this (I think flinching does the same), but it seems to make a loud fluttering sound that is quite bothering.

As far as I know, my hearing is fine, although it is a bit below average for my age.

Sorry if this isn't descriptive enough, but it really is hard to put into words. I'll add more details if you have any other questions.

    Thanks.

  • Have you ever been attracted to a friend/bestfriend while in a relationship?

For one reason or another, whether it be because of looks or personality or both, have you ever been attracted to a friend or bestfriend while in a relationship with someone else?

I'm not talking about wanting to ditch whoever you're with for that person, but where you say to yourself, "If I wasn't currently with my partner, I would would go after this person." Basically, you didn't want to cheat but you could see something happening between you two if things didn't work out.

If so, what was it that attracted you to that person?

  • Why is the USD conversion to euro higher?

We have a bad economic situation and a falling dollar at this point in time. Why is it that the U.S. dollar is actually gaining on the Euro? I know the european economy isn't doing much better, but I have noticed it jump from .64 to .73 in recent days (USD to Euro).

Is the dollar starting to get stronger or is the euro starting to get weaker?

  • What are some good metal/metalcore bands?

I'm very picky with music so I don't have too many songs. I basically only get a few good songs from each band and never buy a full album. So, I'm getting bored of my current songs and I'm looking for some more bands to check out.

Some of my current favorites are: all that reamins, as i lay dying, Killswitch Engage, parkway drive, slipknot, underoath.

I've gone through a lot of bands, but I don't like a lot of them. Any suggestions?

  • Is there anything wrong with this sentence?

Regulations that require every gallon of gas to have a certain percentage of ethanol, an expensive biofuel that requires more energy to create than it gives back, also cause prices to climb.

In the paper I wrote this in, my professor marked that the 'also cause prices to climb' was incorrect, more than likely meaning it should have been 'causes prices'.

But when I look at the sentence, I see, "Regulations...also cause prices to climb".

    Am I missing something?

  • Bought the wrong ipod touch?

I went to target today to buy a 2nd generation ipod touch. When we got there, there was only 1 left in the 16 gb so I decided that was fine. It was labeled as a 2nd generation ipod touch for 299.99.

When I got home and opened it, I discovered it didn't even have the side volume controls, meaning this was actually a 1st gen.

As far as I know, I just bought the older version of the itouch for the same price of the new one. Is there any way I can return it (i bought warranty with it as well). I don't know if it matters, but the box has john lennon on it.

  • Ipod classic or Ipod touch?

My ipod nano just broke on me recently. I had been having way too many problems with it, and now I can't get it to restore and it is blank. So I figured I'd just forget about it.

I'll admit that I hate apple with a passion, but I've kind of put enough money into my music collection that I don't want to walk away from it all.

As far as I know, the classic and the touch are roughly the same price. Right now my music collection is only 434 mb and I'm sure it will go up, but I don't buy/get too many songs that often. Another thing to consider is I like to carry my ipod in my pocket at work, and I'm afraid I'll damage something like the touch unless there is a good soft/hard case for it.

Which do you think I should get? Any clue if I'll encounter more problems with a new ipod?

  • Is it hard for you to be friends with someone who is flirtatious?

I am good friends with this girl that is extremely flirtatious (I'm a guy). We hang out and go places together but there is nothing between us, we just have fun together...plus she has a boyfriend.

The problem is, any time to runs into a guy that she is kind of a friend with, she begins to flirt with them (I've seen her do it to someoen she met a few minutes before). These guys don't understand that she is just looking for attention and they genuinely think that she likes them.

It's just seems like she creates a lot of problems because she has told me many times how people have tried to hold her hand and how uncomfortable she was...yet she keeps flirting. Even these guys come tell me how they can't wait till she is single.

I love to hang out with her, but I have a lot of trouble enjoying myself when thinks like this are going on.

How do you deal with people like this? Would you just stop talking to them altogether? I've personally stopped talking to her for a few days...might stretch into a week. (This question goes for either sex...she just happens to be a girl).

  • Should I tell her to stop leading him on?

One of my good friends is a tease. She flirts with every guy she considers to be a friend and touches them while they talk and such...while she has a boyfriend. It has gotten to this point where these guys she is messing with have told me they think that she wants to be with them (yet she tells me she doesn't want to)

Just yesterday a guy told me he was going to wait till she was single...he is 46 and she is 18. She had told me just weeks before how he had started to try and hold her and how she felt very uncomfortable and shocked that he was trying to do that to her.

It seems like while she is playing these little games, everyone is taking her seriously and I really don't know if she notices.

Would it be wrong to confront her and tell her to quit leading them on, or should I just let her keep playing her games? I just think this could turn into a mess since 3/4 guys at work are thinking they can be with her...(all of them are also my friends)

I'm not too keen on how to deal with stupid drama like this since I normally just ignore it all, but I expect this one to blow up in my face.

  • What is a good electric guitar to get?

I have played guitar in the past but it's been a few years. I went to state for my classical playing and I also have an acoustic guitar. It's just been so long so I have to work on things again.

I want to get an electric and I want to start playing different music though, things that are metal/metalcore. I literally don't know anything about the guitars from the big names. I have heard about them, but can't say how good they are?

What should I go in and look for when I go shopping for one? Price is wide open to be honest, although cheaper is better...

  • How much should I work while going to college?

I'm going to be attending a community college and it starts tomorrow. My job has given me a week off so I can determine how much I can work (I was working full time ~ 40 hours).

I'm taking 13 credits worth for this semester but these are all classes that I believe I can breeze through. I've taken all of these classes during high school as AP courses and passed two of them, just decided to retake them to know it well (I got a 3 for Chem and a 3 for U.S. Hist). I've gone through Cal BC in high school yet I have to take trigonometry. Looking through my textbooks, I can flip to the back and know what is going on.

I'm taking a basic english, inorganic chem, u.s. history, and trig.

My work will let me tell them exactly when I can work and for how long so the times don't matter. I just have to meet a 16 hour minimum to continue working.

Should I keep work under 20 since I am underestimating this (first time college student) or does 20-25 a week sound reasonable considering I've gone through these courses before?
