  • unable to lose weight while breastfeeding, questions?

I'm a 26 yr old mother of 3.. ages 6, 18 months and 3 months, I've been overweight most of my life however after the birth of my 18 month old i got serious about getting down to a healthier weight I lost some weight and was down to 200lbs when I got pregnant again by accident, i didn't gain much this last pregnancy I'm now at 208lbs. problem is I've been there since my 3 month old was born I'm breastfeeding, working out an hour at the gym every other day and 30 minutes at home the other days, eating lite counting carbs, calories i have a protein bar every morning for breakfast, a large salad for lunch w/ oil and vinegar and dinner which is the only meal I eat meat. i drink 10-12 glasses of water daily , only eat whole wheats, i use splenda when needed.I don't drink soda. I use 1% milk. I want so badly to get down to a healthy weight but it seems I can't lose the weight

    where am going wrong ?

how much longer should I try before I seek help from a dr.

( whom at this point brush me off as eating not healthy or not exercising)

  • how do I tell my doctors I might be further along in my pregnancy?

my LMP started on 2-18-07 , I should have ovulated on or around March 3-4th insteadt I had implantion type spotting on March 3rd ... So I''m thinking i'm about 2 weeks ahead of my due date according to my LMP date...

I told my doctor but he doesn't seemed worried.

I am because I'm currantly 29 weeks measuring 33 weeks, my c-section is set for Nov. 23rd my due date according to them is Nov. 25th ( I'm thinking more like the 11th)

if I would happen to go past the baby's real date and they do keep me until 23rd I think he's gonna be way to big and past due... my doctor already said she'd exspect a 10 lb. baby!!

( also I took a test in Jan. and it was Neg. so I know I'm not really 33 weeks)

  • Did you use a doula?

I would like to become a doula and I've been thinking about taking up some classes to become one... since I'm 24 and have already been to 8 births other than the birth of my sons.

I love watching a new life coming into this world and I like to help the laboring mother weather it be a foot massage, a word of encouragment or a suggestion that could help her...

I've also coached 3 of those ladies in breastfeeding...

it's just very natural to me and I thing I'd be good at it..

hav you used a doula? would you ever?

    what was your experiance?

  • How do I get my 4 year old son to use toilet paper?

he's been potty trained since he was 22 months old... but refuses to wipe himself after a B.M, he will sit there until someone else ( mommy!) comes to wipe him.

he is starting preschool tomorrow and I've told him he needs to do this on his own...

He also has an extremely weak stomach the sight and smell of things ( like a B.M) will make him throw up...

    any ideas or suggestion?

    please serious answers only. thanks

  • my family is upset because I'm having another boy,how do I deal with them?

I have a 4 year old son and today we went to my ultrasound and found out we are gonna have "another Boy" as my family puts it. we really didn't care either way weather it was a boy or girl as long as it was healthy and it seems to be... but everyone that we told grandparents, uncles, aunts, even friends seemed disappointed and some even said sorry!!

I told them all that we where very happy to have "another boy"

but to my family girls get special treatment, and I can't stand it! lucky for me I was the oldest and I had a baby sister so I was never spoiled that much, and I tend to be the black sheep of the family. back to the subject

how should I deal with them ... I'd like to have a smart come back, to stop them in their tracks.

but more importantly I want my son to be excepted.

  • How do I help my Overweight 4 year old son?

My son who will be turning 4 next month is weighing in at 58 lbs. the doctor sees no real concern only to offer him healthy foods and so on. but I'm alarmed! I'm at 200 lbs. 5'8" large framed and my Husband at 6'1" 240 lbs also Larged fromaed we knew our children where gonna be big but I don't want him to be larger than he should be... he is 45" tall which is very tall for his age also. he is very active! we doing things together, our favorite is skating. which we do 4-5 times a week 2-3 hours at a time.( he infact is the fastest skater in the 8 and under group. ) When it comes to eating he can out eat me and I feel like I'm punishing him when I tell him no to seconds. most mom's I've told this to just laugh since they struggle to get their child to eat. what's worse is my stepfather has begun saying things like he's gonna be 150 lbs before he starts school.
