I met someone who describes themselves this way, what does it mean?

I find it very confusing, can anyone shed some light?

I am taking a close friend out for her birthday, does anyone know anything quite posh, that would be suitable for the occasion.

A local newspaper (in England) ran a competition asking for a rhyme with the most romantic first line... but the least romantic second line.
