I've to do a report about Edinburgh and deal with transportation, culture, cost of living, safety,..

Some comments from people who have lived there could be interesting, especially about topics such as transportation (public transport=> efficient?/car=>traffic jam?), safety, ..quality of live in brief!

If you have ever lived there, could you give me your opinion, do you think it's a good place to live (why?), what are the advantages and disavantages,...?

I go soon to the Netherlands. Do you know which towns I should visit? Amsterdam of course (but how long? 1 week end is enough? more?) but what else?

Other questions: Do you know what kind of food they eat there?

They have the (bad) reputation to be mean, is it true? (sorry, it's just for information)

I'm going to live in a host family, is there anything I have to know about their way of life to enjoy mij stay? Every advices is welcome!

Je vais bientôt partir pour les Pays-Bas et je voudrais savoir quelles sont les villes qui valent le détour. Amsterdam bien sûr (1 weekend c'est suffisant?) mais quoi d'autre? Et qui a-t-il à visiter là-bas?

De plus, je voudrais savoir quelques info...Quelles sont les habitudes alimentaires des hollandais? (je sais c'est difficile de généraliser mais bon...) Leur réputation d' économe, pour ne pas dire radin est-elle fondée? (PS:je ne veux vexer personne)

Si vous connaisez toute info qui pourrait être utile pour quelqu'un qui va vivre dans 1 famille d'accueil hollandaise, dites-les-moi!

J'envisage de passer 2 ou 3 jours à Londres. Pouvez-vous me conseiller quelques endroits à visiter, me dire ce qui vous à plus ou pas (pourquoi), ou tout autre info pouvant m'être utile...

Pensez-vous vraiment que tous les Belges parlent avec un accent stupide avec des "une fois" dans chaque phrase?

PS: Si le cas, c'est navrant! Non pas que je renie mes origines, c'est vrai que de temps en temps on place un "une fois" dans nos phrases mais faut pas abuser non plus!

C'est dommage (ou plutôt lassant à la fin) que certains prennent un stéréotype pour la réalité...

Voilà, j'en ai marre que à chaque fois que fe regarde le journal télévisé en Français il y toujours un reportage sur les pauvres petits étudiants français qui passent leur bac et qui sont tout stressés! C'est vrai qu'ils n'ont pas tellement l'habitude de passer des tests!

Vous êtes pas les seul à avoir des exams! Pourquoi c'est tellement important et pourquoi c'est une telle une institution? Et que pensez-vous du controle continu, tous les ans? Ce serait plus équitable (et plus sûr car tu ne joues pas tout en 1 seule fois) mais bien sûr faut bosser plus et plus régulièrement...

Bon, je sens que je vais me faire traiter par tous les étudiants de France là mais je voudrais quant même avoir quelques réponses "constructives"....

PS: ne me dites pas de changer de chaine, j'y ais déjà penser! ;-)

Simplement par curiosité... J'ai surfé sur "yahoo answer" pour pratiquer mon anglais et je me demande si il y a des "étrangers" qui font de même en français... Si oui, quelle est votre langue maternelle?

I come from Belgium and I was surprised when I discover that there were a few questions on this site about my country. Actually I though that almost nobody knew Belgium because thi's such a small country! Except the Belgians themselves of course! So what do you know about it? What are the steretypical of Belgium?

A lot of students from all over the world go to England, America, Austrelia,...to improve their English, get a studentjob and visit as well. What's your opinion? You don't care, you think it's good or the business or that they're too much,...Speak your mind!
