Am going to Perth (Australia) for about a week. I've surfed and found that there're no Hard Rock Cafes and Planet Hollywood there. Are there any famous cafes there that sells merchandise too?

I'm pretty new to Flash, I'm learning as I'm building it.

I understand that preloaders should be on the same fla file as the main contents. But my contents are going to be huge, so I'm trying to 'split' my contents to multiple swf files, and load them whenever I click the 'arrow' buttons.

I cannot find much help on the net, I'm hopping someone here can advise me.

I've made a preloader swf to load a main swf.

Here is my problem:

Problem 1 : Main swf file plays before the preloader indicated end of loading. What should I make sure that the progress bar finishes before the main swf is played?

Problem 2: If you play the main swf file, when you mouseover the words, there will be a background photo fading in. However, when the preloader loads the main swf, the background photo doesnt load anymore. Why?

Question : If I use the same preloader method to load in another swf when I click the arrow, will the same problem appear?

I would like to re-format my drive, but I dont want to lose all my MSN emoticons that I've saved so far. Is there a free program to manage the emoticons and also to back them up?

Is it possible to show half a sentence when page is loaded, and mouseover that half line and show the rest of the sentence? My code always display the rest of the sentence on the NEXT line which I dun want. Any advise?

I have a scrollable menu, build from DynamicDrive (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex11/scrollc... and from each item in the menu, when Mouseover, I would like to do 3 things :

1 & 2, change the background (and stretch to fill up the browser) and 3 display hidden text next to the menu item.

I've got only the background changed (but not stretched). I'm not very familiar with Javascript, and this is only what I got :

I just cannot figure out how to stretch the image and show the description next to the item on the same onMouseover event. Can anyone advise?

My own room's little basketball net was broken (the strings broke into pieces when the ball hits the net) and I was wondering whether there're any videos out there that teaches people how to make a new one? I've been searching in Youtube but couldn't find it.

I don't think they sell it (just the net) out there. So I plan to make one of my own. I have strings, just don't know how to tie them.

Problem : I have a word document with tables defined. In each cell there are texts. When I do a click that highlights only a particular cell and paste it in Notepad, the entire table row's text is pasted!

Why is that so? Some documents will work with the desired paste (just the text in the highlighted cell), some will not.

I'm not sure where to check... Can someone enlighten me?

Problem with mom.

I'm already 30+, am a graduate. I've got to know this guy whom I'm interested in, met him 2 yrs ago. Mom knows this guy as well. Recenly, I've been chatting with him at night daily... we're not a couple (even though i'm not sure whether we are).

Mom found out that I'm chatting with this guy, and she got angry and forbit me from even CHATTING. What's wrong with talking to someone? I've always been a good gal at home. She says he's a 'low-class' person and we're not supposed to have anything to do with these people. I mean, c'mon... we're all humans, we're all adults. I think she sense that I like him. She has been very unreasonable these days. I'm even thinking of moving out for some freedom.

Is she too much? What can I do?

To all the computer experts out there:

I used to be able to use Windows Explorer, browse to where I want, then go to Start > Run > Cmd, DOS defaults to the directory where I went to at WE. Now it does not anymore. Anyone knows why?

For eg, in WE, I browse to

"d:\digital photos\personal\fun\2007-03-01\original\"

it used to give me the exact place when i run cmd. Now it gives me the default. I had to type "D:", then cd [all the subdirectories]... It's a hassel!!!

I really want to help my friend, who text messaged me the other night, and says he wants to chat. Asked me to call him. He's too sad over loosing his mom last year, and he's been drinking vodka that night. How true is one's words when they are drunk? He seemed normal the next day. But I'm still worried.

Well, continuation from my last question, I hadn't made the first move, yet. At least not for the time being. We have started to chat on the phone, sometimes for hours into the wee hours in the morning. And we had watched each other on our webcams on MSN. His job requires him to fly overseas, and he called me this time before he went on the plane, which he hadn't done it before. He sounded 'sad' that he's gonna be gone for 7 days.

Friends say that he is interested in me, but I can't be sure. It's normal for a guy to make the first move, but should I not wait any longer? How should I make the move?
