Pfaff Select sewing machine owners, typical problems?
I am looking to buy a new sewing machine. I went into a store and tried Pfaff Select 2.0 which looked OK but when I tried it one of the stitch selection buttons jammed down. Is this common?
Also, the machine had a kind of a screeching background noise. The salesperson insured me that the machine was only suffering from lack of oil. I'm not sure whether to believe her.
Have you had these problems with Pfaff Select (2.0, 3.0, 4.0 or 150)? What about any other?
2 AnswersHobbies & Crafts8 years agoConstantly showing message on IE9?
I keep getting the message "IE has modified this page to prevent cross site script posting [translation]". I get it in an ordinary picture and text site (f. ex. Fail blog).
Do I have to look at it each time I change a page or can I remove it somehow?
1 AnswerOther - Internet1 decade agoRecipe for white sweet (and sour) sauce)?
I had this really good sauce with beef and chips in a restaurant. I would like to make it myself.
The sauce was white, soft and creamy. I doubt that it was cheese based, rather cream or sour cream based. It was quite light-textured, spicy and had a lot of garlic.
The restaurant called it 'penne sauce' but I haven't found any recipes with that name. Any suggestions?
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoUsing external hard drive?
If I get an external hard drive, am I able to use programs which are on it without installing them to the main computer? F.ex. can I install and play a game only from the external HD without burdening my internal HD?
I have a huge program which is taking way too much space. Could this be the answer?
3 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agoHow do I get the orig. GTA to work in Win 7?
I have the original Grand Theft Auto and the London Mission Pack back from the days. They installed just fine but when opened, the program says it's not supported on 64-bit Windows 7. Are there some drivers that could save me? They really go beyond my head.
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhat to expect when installing Windows 7?
I am about to install Windows 7 Home Premium (64) into a 'virgin' computer.
1. Are there any bumps on the road I should be looking out for? Any tricky parts? This is my first time installing OS.
2. Also, what would be the easiest way to move my files from my old computer?
3. Is there a way to turn off the transparent look without everything looking like Win 95?
6 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoWhat to get for a self-compiled computer?
I'm thinking of ordering a mix-and-match PC from a store. What sort of components would you, heavy users, suggest for me?
I mostly use the machine for surfing, work (text editing) and gaming (usually nothing too memory consuming). I need it to be strong enough to smoothly run bigger software like Dreamweaver, too. I also need space to store pictures, videos etc.
Mind you, I know something but I'm nowhere near a computer wizard and I also don't have much money to spend!
3 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoUsing iron on interlining / facing fabric on Spandex?
I need to sew Spandex and I was told it would be wise to reinforce the seems with (iron on) interfacing fabric for extra support as Spandex tends to stretch so much.
Should I iron on the support fabric right in between the two pieces of fabric (front- and backside of a skirt) so that they stick together?
How do I prevent the support fabric from showing in the seem when the skirt is finished and stretching?

I know that Ellen Foley was the original singer who sang with Meat Loaf on the track I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) but was she also the one who sang it with him on the video?
The video had a Beauty and the Beast theme and the very striking looking woman had a husky voice. Who is she?
3 AnswersMusic1 decade agoLittle Red Riding Hood type of film?
I'm looking for a film I saw a couple of years ago. It was a MODERNIZED VERSION OF THE RED RIDING HOOD TALE with a real man playing the part of the wolf. It also had a lot of wolflike dogs running around (especially in the final scene).
The film was definately an adult fim with quite strong sexual references.
I have a recollection that the Red Riding Hood character (don't remember if she was called that) was visiting her peculiar grandma and she wondered off to the forrest against all warnings. There she met a very charming man (= Wolf) who tried to seduce her.
The film had beautiful vivid colours and a fairy-tale-like stageing. I think it was made somewhere between 1989 and 2000. This was a COLOUR film, not the one with Christina Ricci.

Any relatives to Salli / Sally Liukkonen from California USA out there?
My grandmother's sister moved to USA in 1920's from Finland. Her maiden name was Liukkonen. She married Henry (lastname H--?) and had two children Bobby (Robert?) and Jeannette (who used to live in Arizona) but she later divorced him and married Kalle Wirtanen.
They lived near Disneyland in Anaheim California (1760 W Glenoaks ave) She died in the late 1980's.
She was burried somewhere in California. Does anyone have records of it?

Mine is from the original CSI series. In this episode Grissom is after his archenemy who will be seen in later episodes too. The enemy's mother is supposedly dead on a chair but in a close-up scene her eye moves.
When I saw it I thought it was intentional and I kept waiting for her to attack the CSI's...
