Why does the women's draw of the US Open have 33 seeded players?
Is it because Kim Clijsters withdrew? If so, why wouldn't the others just move up a notch?
2 AnswersTennis1 decade agoWhen players change teams, why does TV show new stats only?
For example, Bob Wickman has 21 saves, but after his name on the game stats they only show (6) because he has 6 with the Braves, his new team. I noticed the same thing on the home runs for Carlos Lee (1) and Bobby Abreu (1), even though they have a lot more than that for the year.
Is it for clarity for the audience, or does it just show that the player changed leagues?
7 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWhat does Cameron Diaz see in Justin Timberlake?
He's 25, she's 33, and she has more star power. I'm not faulting them for the age difference, but it just seems like they wouldn't be each other's "type" or that they'd be in the same social circles. (Sort of like Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, people you wouldn't picture together.)

Scorers can change hits to errors and vice versa even the next day after a game. How long is the time window for doing this? Is there an official rule?
3 AnswersBaseball2 decades agoWhy is Andrea Yates being tried for the deaths of only 3 of her 5 children?
CNN reports, "Yates is being tried only in the deaths of three of the five children, a common practice in cases of multiple slayings. "
Why is this a common practice?
How do prosecutors determine which victims' deaths are prosecuted in cases like this?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics2 decades agoBalks and walks are both BBs; are they grouped together in stats?
When we see statistics for pitchers' walks and strikeouts, are balks included with the walks since "bases on balls" is the official category for both of them? Do record books separate balks and walks or is BB the only officially listed statistic for them?
1 AnswerBaseball2 decades agoWhy does Jon Miller continually pronounce some players' names wrong?
He knows a lot of Spanish, but he does not always pronounce players' names correctly (no matter what the ethnicity) and no one corrects him. Some players may not pronouce their names the way he thinks they should be pronounced. Tonight, he got several wrong including Seanez, Langerhans, and worst of all, Wilson Betemit.
Why does no one at ESPN correct him?
7 AnswersBaseball2 decades agoFalse advertising-What do the commercials lure you in to doing to get rich quick?
I just want to know what kind of "businesses" do these "companies" sign you up for? What exactly do these people on the commercials do for a living? I am just curious, because the commercials don't say what the people do to make $100,000 in a month by working 2 days a week, or whatever they advertise. (I would never participate in anything that is too good to be true. I know that get rich quick schemes are opportunities to lose your money.)
3 AnswersAdvertising & Marketing2 decades agoWhy won't McAfee install updates automatically?
I have the security center set to "install updates automatically and notify me when the product is updated", but the system still notifies me whenever something is ready for download and installation, prompting me to do it manually. Is there a way I can fix this?
