  • Child adoption for gay couples?

Haven't kids got enough on their plate negotiating the trials of life without getting adopted by a couple of gays. Is anyone thinking about the kids here and the psychological damage they could suffer as they go through school etc. just so gays can get their way?

  • Who was the last leader of your country that you respected?

For over 20 years (since I really cared after leaving school) I've read very little positive comment about the British PM (Thatcher, Major, Blair). That's two different partys leaders who have been subjected to differing degrees of accusations of ineptitude, inadequacy, fascism etc. etc.

I hear the same on sites like this from the Yanks (and also from the Brits who feel they know enough) about their leaders.

So how are they in power?

  • Red and white wine?

It seems common knowledge that red wine goes with red meat and white wine with white meat and fish. However, why is this? Is it simply a common conception due to the colour or is there any fundamental gastronomic reason why they compliment there respective colours of meat?

A bit of a dull question I know but I enjoy red wine with either and it is sometimes frowned upon by those who consider themselves self proclaimed authorities on cuisine.

  • One Day, many years ago?

A good looking man walked into an agent's office in Hollywood

and said,"I want to be a movie star."Tall, handsome and with experience on Broadway, he had the right credentials. The agent asked, "What's your name?" The guy said, "My name is Penis van Lesbian." The agent said, "Sir, I hate to tell you, but in order to get

into Hollywood, you are going to have to change your name." "I will NOT change my name! The van Lesbian name is centuries old and I will not disrespect my grandfather by changing my name. Not ever." The agent said, "Sir, I have worked in Hollywood for years. You

will NEVER go far in Hollywood with a name like Penis van Lesbian! I'm telling you, you will HAVE TO change your name or I will not be able to represent you." "So be it! I guess we will not do business together," the guy said and he left the agent's office. Five years later, the agent opens an envelope sent to his office. Inside the envelope is a letter and a cheque for $50,000. The agent is awestruck, who would possibly send him $50,000?

    He reads the letter enclosed;

"Dear Sir, Five years ago, I came into your office wanting to

become an actor in Hollywood. You told me I needed to change my name.

Determined to make it with my God-given birth name, I refused.

You told me I would never make it in Hollywood with a name like

Penis van Lesbian. After I left your office and I thought about what

you said. I decided you were right. I had to change my name.

I had too much pride to return to your office, so I signed with

another agent. I would never have made it without changing my name, so

the enclosed cheque is a token of my appreciation.

    Thank you for your advice.

    Sincerely,

    Dick van Dyke

  • Is it economic and practical to be 'green'?

There are reports that next year will be the warmest ever due to glaobal warming issues. However, given the constraints that individuals (employees and consumers) in advanced economic countries are under on a daily basis, how realistic is it to be able to embrace the 'green' options we are given? Is the green issue and initiative being used more as a tool for governments to increase taxation and should we be accepting the changing climate as part of the human race and planet earths evolution and adapting and preparing for it?

  • Muslims, Jews and other minorities only?

Do you think that the politically correct policies being administered may be a devious ploy to stir up racial hatred against you as opposed to 'protect' your feelings as they claim?

The recent banning of xmas decorations in the workplace has stirred up a fervour of anger and, in some, resentment against ethnic minorites. Yet when questioned, the ethnic minorities don't really seem to have any issue with christians (and let's face it, you don't need to be religious or christians) celebrating the xmas period with traditional decor.

Some of the comments I've heard in light of this news, from individuals that I really wouldn't expect, have been pretty damning towards you lot, and I personally feel that this frustration, anger and resentment is being directed towards the wrong people.

Is there a more devious underlying strategy in motion?

  • A search engine with conversation.?

Is Yahoo answers becoming a search engine with friendly feedback? There seems to be a stack of questions starting 'Does anyone know a good website for....?' and a load of responses with weblinks that most have found by simply searching using Yahoo or Google. Am I right or am I being a miserable cynic?

  • Flash wipes for alloy wheels?

After using a lot of different cleaning products for my alloy wheels (some quite expensive) I've since turned to using Flash wipes. The difference is fantastic, they clean superbly without the clarting on and fuss. However, can anyone tell me whether they may damage the wheels (if they are rinsed afterwards and a polish/sealer is applied)?
