Very easy going ,uncomplicated, creative,.loyal to a fault , easily turn a negative into a positive and very resilient .I love being fifty. I wish I didn't smoke. I wish I had more discipline and wish I was better at saving money. I believe that I am where I am because of the choices I have made. I also believe that from my hardest times I grew the most. Things I'd still like to do : Improve my formal education. Speak a few languages fluently, travel more to far away places, own a Harley, learn to sew, write more, be really good at something that makes a difference. Oh yea I almost forgot! Find the courage to quit smoking. Eat healthier foods and give up meat.

Need a recommendation for a brand and model # of equipment that can copy to CD from vinyl LP's and cassettes.

  • Converting LP's and Cassettes to CD...What brand do you recommend and why?

I have an extensive LP and cassette collection and due to lack of space would like to burn CD's from the collection but have little knowledge and limited finances , so I am not looking for top end technology , but still hope to choose a quality brand, any recommendations?

  • Are K-9 dogs used to inspect lodgings for bed mites or roaches?

In NYC, I have an elderly relative who's landlord arrived this morning with a K-9 dog and handler to do an inspection for bed mites and roaches (Had they been looking for mice they would have hit the lotto)Since this building has a long history of using underhanded methods to remove longterm residents and operate as an illegal hotel, I am suspicious of the motives or any efforts to improve anyones living conditions there since for the past 30 years, prior to the hotel takeover they have been very negligent

  • MICE advice needed. Are they dangerous to a cat?

My uncle lives in a small apt, he's in his late 70's ,his apt has become over run with mice, previously not a problem because of his cat,(who lived to be 23) whose presence was sufficient deterrent for visiting mice and if it wasn't he killed them. So now I have the dilemma of deciding how to manage them, I have a problem killing them, when using the glue traps , I would listen to the crying and suffering for sometimes up to 24 hours, and I am still haunted, I would put the glue traps and mouse upside down in toilet for 5 mins so they would at least die fast. but I can't do this anymore, Is it better to get another cat? My Uncle would be thrilled at having company, but since there are so many is it dangerous to the cat? It shouldn't take long for the mice to realize there is a cat in the house..Is a kitten too small to handle it? Impossible to stuff steel wool into all the cracks, there are too many. I worry if there are so many mice to begin with if this can hurt a cat, I am not sure

  • Where would I buy grass seed or sod in NYC, which would be better? Is It too late?

I recently rented a ground floor apt with a private back yard in Manhattan,Of course it's surrounded by a wall, its shaded but adequete sun, I benefit from the trees next door , the outer edges have planters built and plants that already exist are growing nice. there is a walkway all around the yard and in the center there is a nice large big square of dirt(it would take a couple of pallets ofsod I would imagine, (the area was covered with wood chips last year by previous tenent.) I long to have this all covered with grass, I have a small apt and a yard 4 times its size.I have no idea how to go about this, timing , conditions , care etc.the space is way too beautiful not to create some type of habitat. preferably one where I can walk outside barefoot in the damp morning grass and "ground " myself , I can t afford to hire gardeners or landscapers, it's a DIY project. Any advice?
