Toddler eating habits!?
My daughter will be 2 in November. She isn't the easiest to feed. She likes chicken nuggets (Tyson brand, not McDs, yuck), she likes PB&J, spaghetti, boiled cheese ravioli and sauce, applesauce, yogurt, mac and cheese, canned beans, and all of her snack foods. She can't eat strawberries, pineapple, or watermelon.
I am a single mom, cooking for one and a half and have run out of new things to try. I can usually let her try new things, but I am just out of ideas! Any suggestions, I mean ANYTHING is great and seriously helpful.
5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler10 years agoNewborn not liking crib?
Our 6 day old doesn't like to sleep in her crib.
We have tried to get her to sleep in it ever since we got home from the hospital (at 3 days old).
We have a sleep wedge that has a small elevation to it,
we have tried using the sleep wedge while shes swaddled,
we have tried not using the sleep wedge while shes swaddled,
we have tried using the sleep wedge while shes not swaddled,
and we have tried not using the sleep wedge while shes swaddled.
We really don't know what else to do.
She has a pack-n-play and will sleep in the diaper changing attachment when we're standing nearby doing something,
she will sleep in her little swing,
and she will sleep in her carseat.
We have been letting her sleep in between us and she sleeps fine.
We do NOT need any negative comments about any of the methods we are using for our daughter, so please leave those to yourselves.
We just want ideas on what to try so she will sleep in her crib.
Thank you in advance.
21 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoOur little girl is here :) Finally :)?
We finally had Paisley (we hid the name up until now. : ) ) on Nov 2.
We were set to be induced Monday Nov 2 at 5AM.
We were thinking everything would go smoothly,
but it went pretty rocky.
*Got there at 5am Monday morning.
Hooked me up to the machines all before 7 oclock.
It took them 3 nurses, 4 sticks, and 45 minutes to put in an IV.
Got my water broken soon after they did the IVs.
Had the pitocin to help me along.
I got to the hospital dilated at a 2 1/2.
With the pitocin, I got all the way to almost a 7.
Around when I got to be a 6 1/2,
they told me I wasn't progressing at all because I
couldn't relax, because my body was resisting the contractions.
Because I couldn't relax,
Paisley wasn't dropping any more.
Her head was low, but she wasn't moving.
So they told me we should try whatever I could, to keep dilating.
I tried a million different positions to see if she'd move into the birthing canal, but nothing worked.
So I had to get the epidural to see if I could start relaxing, not because I was hurting too bad,
but because my body was resisting the contractions& I had stopped
dilating because of it.
So I got the epidural, and held on for a while.
Like an hour after I got the epidural,
they checked me again to see if we made any progress,
but nope.
They told me I was going to need a c-section.
So they got husband in his gown,
got me ready
(I slept thru them getting me ready for the c-section,
and slept thru almost the whole c-section, cause I was so tired)
During the c-section husband sat at my head & talked to me when I was awake.
She was born at 5:22pm on Monday night.
I got staples and stitches and we were released 48 hours later.
She is doing well now. :)
To make this legit,
what are some tips or tricks you found while trying to get the feeling back in your incision area?
And how long did it take for your feeling to come back?
Is it 100% back? Or partial?
And how long did it take for your belly to start being firm again?
Thank you in advance.:)
1 AnswerOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoPostpartum/breastfeeding/breast pads/bras?
I am due here within the next 8 days.
I have been wondering lately about after delivery & your breast changes.
I am not sure if I am going to breastfeed,
(I do not need any negative comments about NOT breastfeeding, thank you.) but if I am going to breastfeed, what are the things I will need to worry about & look forward to?
I.E, like will I need to always wear a bra with breastpads?
Will I need to wear more than one bra?
I am not buying the nursing bras, so would tank tops be better?
If I don't breastfeed, what are the things I will need to look forward to?
I.E, Will I need to wear tight bras for 'binding?'
What exactly is binding?
How long does it take for your milk to 'dry up?'
Will I need to wear breast pads with the bras?
My breasts have been 'leaking' clear fluids for about a month,
and its really annoying at this point.
Especially when I don't wear a bra at some points (such as right before bed time) and my shirt gets spotted because of the leaking.
Please include any tips & tricks you have come up with over your experiences.
Thank you. : )
6 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade ago38 weeks with constipation?

Im suspecting that the Iron is making me a little constipated.
Are there any natural remedies to help?
Or any suggestions that you have tried?

4 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoHospital bags and preparation?
I have a couple questions : )
1. When did you get your bags ready for delivery and your hospital stay?
2. What are the things you packed in your bag and in your newborns bag?
3. Was there anything you forgot to pack in your bags that you wish you would've thought about? 3.a. What are things you would suggest I bring that you didn't have?
4. What things did you take to occupy your down time while you were staying in the hospital pre-delivery and post-delivery?
I am 37 weeks on Friday, and I have been 'checked' once so far im dilated to a 1 and my cervix has thinned some. My appointments are in one week intervals now, I go back to the doctor tomorrow for another check up. Thank you in advance for all your answers!
6 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoAfter birth, family, friends, invasion of privacy, & how to deal?
I am 36 weeks tomorrow, and im worried about everything under the sun
: )
I am worried about after giving birth, that all of our families and our friends will bombard us with 'visits' and 'calls' and not giving us our privacy and time to bond.
I was wondering if some of you would share your experiences and how you dealt with the overbearing people that came around.
I also am worried about immediately after birth, before anyone but the mommy and daddy sees the baby; how did your family and friends flood into your room?
Did a couple people trickle in seconds after she was born?
Or did a million people run in seconds after she was born?
Or did you get a set amount of time to bond with your baby before the crowd came in?
Im sorry if this is a confusing question,
but I want as many tips, tricks, reasoning and your stories.
Thank you so much in advance. : )
12 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoChest/swallowing/pain/uncomfortable?
I don't really know how to explain the feeling I have in between my breasts, like inside my chest, but its very weird.
When I swallow, and sometimes when I breathe, it feels like I swallowed a quarter and its stuck in my chest.
It feels like theres an object lodged inside and its very painful.
I have had this pain for two days.
I have tried drinking lots of water, to see if it really is an object, if it will some how remove itself, I have tried a shake, to see if the thickness will move it, I have tried chewing ice to see if maybe that will help?
I can eat normally, it doesn't feel like any food gets stuck, but I do feel the pain in the area.
I know this is very confusing but I was wondering if anyone has any clue whats going on, seeing as my doctors office is closed tomorrow.
(I will promtly call my doctor on Monday if I can't find a remedy.)
Thank you in advance.
3 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoWhat signs are there when your baby is dropping?
I am 33 weeks pregnant and curious about what it feels like when the baby starts to drop.
What does it feel like and where do you feel it?
When does it generally happen?
Is there any significant feeling when it happens?
Do you feel 'her' head in between your pelvic bones or what?
I have been feeling some very minute pressure on my right pelvic bone,
feels like something is pushing the bone outward, for the last week.
My next doctors appointment is on the 24th but I would like some answers now.
Please tell me your experiences, good or bad.
Thank you in advance.

7 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoShaving during labor/delivery (mildly personal)?
Im 23 weeks pregnant and I was recently discussing labor/delivery with someone the other day. I asked a friend about how she dealt with her pubic hair when she got really far into her pregnancy.
(This is a subject im a little concerned with, since I know im already having trouble using a razor anywhere below the navel. I know its kind of petty to be thinking about right now, but now im just more curious than anything)
The friends response was that it didn't matter because the doctor or nurse would completly shave you before delivery.
Now, I find this really scary.
Have any of you had this happen to you? How did you deal with your pubic area when you got farther along?
This question is on serious terms with me and I would appreciate no negative answers.
Thank you in advance. : )
15 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoProper way to cure paint on plastic in conventional oven?
Im looking to find out if there is a way to cure paint on a plastic dash piece for a car, in a conventional oven.
Using Duplicolor paint [Acrylic Laquer] , Premium Automotive Formula.
I know there is a way to professionally do it when painting a car, but is there a way you can do it here at home?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHelp with lasagna noodles?
I am thinking about attempting home made lasagna for the third time.
The two previous times were oka, but the noodles got a little hard.
I precook the lasagna noodles, 3 at a time,
put the first layer in the pan,
add ground beef/sauce mix,
ricotta cheese,
more noodles,
more beef/sauce mix,
more ricotta cheese,
more noodles,
more beef/sauce mix,
then I add a whole bunch of mozzarella cheese.
Im pretty much just looking for a suggestion to make sure the noodles don't get too rough/hard.
Anything is appreciated.
6 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoTingly legs while laying down?
Whenever I lay down I get this tingly sensation in my legs, that makes me unable to stay still or sleep. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night from it. It is not an every night thing [its probably happened a total of ten times that I remember, in my whole life until this week], and its been happening more often here in the last week. Its not as soon as I lay down, its normally after I start getting really relaxed and comfortable. While its happening its very hard to stay laying down, it's impossible to fall asleep, and it makes me just want to get up and run in place or something to make it go away. Its a tingly, creepy crawly, kind of burning sensation. Being said that I wake up from it, sometimes I don't have the sensation when I fall asleep.
I would just like to know how to avoid it or if it happens, try and make it stop. Any suggestions are appreciated.
[Sorry the question is so rambly and unorganized the sensation/burning is occuring right now.]
4 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoConstipated two year old? Remedies?

I've never made it this morning but Rachel Ray this morning got me thinking.
Be honest please, and feel free to add any suggestions. Thank you : )
10 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade ago10 weeks pregnant and shaving? [Mature content]?
I am ten weeks pregnant and I completly shaved my 'groin area' on Thursday. I haven't shaved it completly [with a razor] since the middle of February. [I've been trimming it with a small electric 'beard' trimmer and have had no problems with it.]
I have never been one for shaving cream so I used conditioner in its place, like I usually did before and used a brand new razor. When I was shaving, I noticed it was a little uncomfortable and I tried to finish up without running over the same spots repeatedly. I also shaved my legs afterwards and did not use conditioner, seeing as I always shave with water only. I rinsed off completly, dried myself, and put on cotton underwear right after I was dry. I tried to take as much caution with this area that night and Friday seeing as it was already starting to feel 'chafed'?
Today is Saturday and I can see the hair starting to grow back and there are red irritated bumps where the hair follicles are.
I am also getting the bumps on my legs.
I know it is some kind of razor burn or something but I would like to know how to get rid of them, and 'soothe' the area. [I have a check up on Wednesday and I don't want to feel all irritated.] The second part to my question is, since I have never had this red bump problem before, do you think since becoming pregnant that my skin is just becoming a lot more sensitive?
I would appreciate positive answers only.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

[You can leave name suggestions also, if you'd like.]
