  • New address after the wedding.?

My fiance and I are moving two weeks after our wedding. We thought about using "Thank you for sharing in our special day" cards at each place setting for our guests, with a small thank you message from us, and possibly informing them of the new address, or should we just wait and send them with the thank you cards we send after the wedding?

  • Brides -- what are you getting your fiance for a wedding gift?

    Ladies,

I'm looking for a good idea for a gift for him. Maybe your fiance is like him:

-Never dresses up unless forced to.

-Only sports in the world: Nascar and Bengals football.

-Never wears watches, but saw a $2,000+ one at Jared Jewelers and wanted it (I laughed at him)

    -Doesn't drink much

-Doesn't wear cologne, only Axe body spray, and that's a rare occasion.

So... what would you suggest to get him on that special day? We plan on having one of our "representatives" visit each other around 2 hours prior to the wedding and giving the gifts to each other.

  • Okay... what brides here have cheated......?

And looked at your registry online and found the gifts you've received?

I'm guilty of this! I can't help it! I'm too excited!

  • If you were deathly afraid of snakes.....?

And your fiance knew this... but went ahead and got a snake, would you be really upset with him/her?

I told my fiance that since we're moving in two months, he could get it, but AT THAT TIME. Not before! I don't want to see the dang thing, and I seriously get panic attacks around snakes.

And the part that ticked me off the most, is that he bought it, and took it to his friend's place and didn't tell me about it until after dinner, and when we got to his friend's place last night, he gave me a kiss, told me how beautiful I was, and that he bought the d*** snake.

If you had a phobia, or just plain FEAR of something, would you be upset, like I am??? Or am I over-reacting?

  • Lingerie questions for wedding dresses?

My dress is a V-Neck that comes up to inch-wide straps at the shoulders. Should I go for a corset, or just a separate tummy-sucker and bra? I'm just worried that I'll look awful in a corset.

Any large chested women out there have any suggestions?

  • "Raising your children catholic."?

Hey everyone! How's my favorite group to ask questions in????

Anyways, my fiance and I are in a disagreement. This whole time I've been planning the wedding (for the past 18 months), he's not said a word and that it was all up to me to do what I wanted.

Now, he found out from guys at work that since I'm Catholic, he's not, and we're having an inter-faith ceremony, he's worried about meeting with the priest in the next week or two. And he especially doesn't want to sign any paperwork, stating that we will raise our children catholic, but I don't find a problem in it, because I still go to church.

He said that he was going to refuse to sign that paper. I'm concerned we won't be able to get married in the church if he won't.

My question is that a couple of people here at work had Catholic/interfaith marriages this past year. Some said they had to sign the paper, some say they didn't. Did you have to? And did your fiances have problems with signing it?

  • Okay... remember that stupid bridesmaid that wouldn't get back with me?

(You might need to read my question "Was I mean to the bridesmaid???" if you're not familiar with this question.

Well, now, she's getting back with me finally and asking when and where she should go to get her dress.

I've been childish, I admit, and not returned her emails, but seriously, she's not going to get her dress on time, even with a rush charge applied to the dress.

Her husband also called my fiance and left him a voicemail and said that he and she were ready to come and get fitted and measured, but they want to do it all in the same day. The husband's tux would be fine, and he could get the tux, but the bridesmaid dress won't match the others because it won't come from the same color dye set. (Supposedly.)

I don't want to lose them as friends, and I know my fiance doesn't, either, but they never called us back until this past Sunday. I've been milling over this since then, and the wedding is September 1st.

    HELP!

  • Engagment pictures tomorrow!?

My fiance and I are getting our engagement pictures done tomorrow. We're having our pictures done at a park and it's supposed to be nice - about 75-80 degrees and sunny. The appointment is at 5:30.

Now, I plan on wearing a white button up blouse with a tank top under it, and jean capris.

I think he's going to wear a light blue plaid short sleeve shirt and jeans.

People have said that it sounds like we're going to be too casual. Others have said that it sounds great, because we hate to dress up.

Any ideas of poses we can do that don't look too "forced"?

  • Flower (pansy) problems?

I bought a pot of Pansies from WalMart in early May. Those stupid things won't stay alive! I water them daily, but it looks like they're as dead as a doornail.

A friend of mine (who is slighly more knowledgable about flowers than I am -- and that's not much! LOL) said that they really hate a ton of sun and hot weather, and they'll get better in the fall, as long as I keep taking care of them like I'm doing now, even though they look pretty pathetic.

Is this true? or should I give up the fight?

  • Thinking about stripping the color from my hair?

Years ago, I used to color my hair from brown to a reddish color. About a year ago, I went from a light brown to a darker brown, and now I want to do a light brown with blonde highlights. I've been gradually doing the lighter color of brown, but my hair is turning more red than anything. Right now, it's a dark strawberry blonde color. How in the hell I got that color, I don't know.....

I'm thinking about going to the salon today after work and seeing if stripping would be the answer. What do you think? Has anyone had it done? My friend says that she's heard nothing but bad stories about people who get their hair stripped.

    Thanks!

  • Was I mean to the bridesmaid?????

A year ago, I asked a friend of mine to be in the wedding. She was so happy I asked, and said yes.

Well, we didn't really talk through the winter, but I kept sending email updates to everyone in the wedding party about the wedding, vendors I used, etc... and I never heard back from her.

Two weeks ago, I get a notification from my dress shop where the girls are getting their dresses and they say that she's not been in, and on top of that, because she's not come in, everyone (who came on time!) must now pay $30 rush fee for the delivery of the dress to be in on time before the wedding. I tried calling the bridesmaid and ended up having to leave a voicemail about this and telling her to get in ASAP!

I tried calling her and calling her and she won't answer, and won't return voicemails where I have BEGGED her to call me back. I finally just said "Screw this!" and replaced her, without her knowing.

Should I have done something different?? I feel like I did everything I could!!

  • Changing avatar appearance?

I'm trying to change my appearance on my avatar, but when I type in "Wedding" to find a dress and such, the page won't load. It's been like this for the past two days.

Is anyone else having trouble with this?

  • Knee dislocations?

I have a problem with my kneecap dislocating. It's been doing this for most of my life. I can just walk and it will go out. I've also had it go out when I've jumped up for a block in volleyball, stepping around a corner, pivoting my body without moving my legs, and even going to the bathroom.

    Yeah, it's nasty.

I was wondering if anyone else has this problem (and I know people do because my fiance and I have the same problem!) and I was wondering some of the following:

    1) What are you doing when it goes out?

2)How do you put it back in... or do you let it go back in on its own?

    3) How do you take care of it afterwards? Do you baby it? Do you walk on it right away?

I'm waiting until September to see a specialist on this because my current insurance won't pay for it, but my fiance's insurance is awesome.

Thanks for anything you'll give me!!!

  • Basset Hound potty training issues?

My 6 month old basset is having a hard time grabbing the concept of going #2 outside. He'll play outside while we're out there, and go very little, but as soon as we come inside (even after spending a LONG time outside!), he goes right underneath the dining room table.

    Any suggestions?

OH! And he barks constantly. We have a bark collar for him for night time purposes (we live in an apartment building), but we hate to use it. Any ideas on how to get him to stop barking???

  • Bridal Shower given by family members?

    Hello! :)

My mother is deceased, and her sisters and my godmother have decided to throw my bridal shower.

Is there a certain type of thank you gift or gesture that I can do for them to show them how grateful I am for this?? I thought about getting them flowers, but would that be enough?

  • Need a tattoo idea...?

I'm going to get a tiny tattoo for my bachelorette party next month. I thought about doing the cute, new thing - getting something on a toe... but I want to incorporate something that my bridesmaids, who are like my sisters, are doing, too. I thought about the double hearts.... how would you do that as a cool, trendy tattoo... and if possible, to put it on the foot?

I'm already marked on my shoulderblades (both) and both ankles, and my lower back.

    Thanks for suggestions! :)

  • Dream Theater's popularity....?

So, what is it about Dream Theater?

They're popular around the world, but here (especially in my area), you're lucky to find 10 fans in a given area.

They're an extremely talented band, and wonderful musicians that bust their a$$e$ to make killer music, and I can understand people not liking progressive rock, but it's amazing the amount of popularity they have in foreign countries, such as Japan, Italy, etc.

Any ideas of why this is, fellow fans?

  • Can I use hair straightener....?

....that's made specially for African-American hair, even though I have fine hair (and I'm Caucasian)? I have extremely curly hair and it will not straighten with a flat iron or with a normal chemical treatment.

Do you think using something like that would work, or would it damage my hair?

  • Should my father be at my wedding?

My father is an alcoholic, and on top of that, is wheel-chair ridden because of a series of strokes. I love him to death, and my mother is deceased, but with his issues of alcohol abuse (and since alcohol is being served at the reception), and his mental instability, should I have my father at my wedding? He can't get measured for a tux, he can't drive himself to the wedding, and would need a babysitter.

I also don't want to look like a complete b**** by not having him there, or going up to the staff at the reception hall and tell them, "Hey, you see that guy over there?? Don't serve him any alcohol!"

My brother said he would take him to the wedding, but, my brother's in the wedding party and it would be inconvenient for him to bring him and then have to take him back home immediately after the ceremony.

My father has disowned his side of the family and isn't on good terms with my mother's side.

What do you think? Can you think of any compromises?

    Thanks for the help!

  • Looking for a picture of Bette Midler as "the Rose"?

For a halloween party (themed "A night at the Oscares") I drew the name of Bette Midler and have to dress up as her character in the Rose. I can't find any pictures of her like this. I would need a full body shot to see her costume.

Any links to any pictures are EVER so greatly appreciated.
