  • I've just had the first dressing down from my bosses and don't know what to do..?

There I was, thinking that all is fine and dandy, making plans to further my career and stuff like that, and suddenly my bosses sat me down and told me that they are not happy with my performance, to the extent that they were concerned if I am interested in my job at all. I was dumbstruck because I love(d) my job, and had no issues with it. So now when I'm told that I'm awful at my job and should buck up, I don't know what to do.

I know some of the issues they might have with me: they asked if I have short attention span. I do not. I just like to free my mind by reading a few articles on the Net after going through a pile of documents. My colleagues can do just fine without, but I don't agree with that. I did some minor mess up a couple of files, but I'm learning on the job, and isn't that what's supposed to happen?!

How do I pick myself up after the surprise lecture from my favourite bosses? I wanted to rebel, resign, and start somewhere new, but that's just juvenile. But how do I buck up? I tried my best every day, and my best still isn't enough.I'd appreciate any advice at all. Thanks.

  • How do you know when to give up on the relationship?

My partner and I had a huge fight yesterday, and for the first time in nearly 6 years, she said it-that we should just give it all up.

I asked if she could give it another chance but she said the ball is in my court. I don't know what to do. I said I didn't want to give up such a precious relationship, but she made a good point- that I am clinging on to the memories of the wonderful relationship( we are so compatible in so many ways, that's hard to find!), but things have changed so much now. And she asked something that made me stop and think - when was the last time I felt happy with her? I still think of her all the time and want to be around her. I think the main problem is that she is now not working due to some circumstances and it has put a great strain in the relationship, emotionally as well as financially. It brought out the worst in us.

This is my first relationship and I don't know how to handle this. How do I decide if it's worth keeping or is it time to let go?

  • Queers of the world, UNITE!?

i refuse to believe that us LGBTQs are all a bunch of losers! Assuming that we will be condemned to hell, i really dont mind because our quality of life is better than most straight people.

    1. most of my gay friends are very accomplished people who hold key positions in society. my GF and i and going to be lawyers soon.

    2. i have gay friends who have adopted children and they are happy families now.

    contrary to popular believes:

    1. most of us were not sexually abused as a child

    2. we are not SICK AND UNNATURAL! we just like what we like, its just like you liking a particular colour for no reason. or why your eyes are blue in colour and not brown?

    3. we do NOT need your (straight people's) validation. this here is not for validation but rather education. to educate simpletons about the "unchangable" circumstances of a queer person

and for all you christians out there, WWJD??

    think before you act!

so fellow queers, send in your very own success stories!!
