  • NASCAR fans. In 2008, will you......?

    a) watch and follow less. I'm real unhappy with the whole thing.

    b) watch and follow more. I love it and can't get enough!

    c) watch about the same. I get my fill where I'm at

    d) watch the same. You can't follow it any closer than I do

  • So imagine YOU are a crew chief? Are you more like.....?

    A. Chad Knaus. Very technical, serious, you come in early every day and you pretty much call all the shots.

    OR

    B. Steve Letarte. You're more personable. You involve the driver more in the decisions than a guy like Knaus does. Your day starts a little later. you do things a little more by feel.

Which one would you be more like?

  • A.J. Allmendinger???

Anybody here been noticing his recent progress? He's been looking pretty good, like a guy with a future.

Most of all , he looks pretty fearless.

    What do you think?

Racers- what do you think it is?

  • Read NASCAR blogs?

I've started a new one- www.bump-drafts.com. I post almost daily, so feel free to stop by any time.

    It's troll free.

  • NASCAR broadcast critics. What would you do differently?

Don't get me wrong here. I'm a FOX fan for NASCAR coverage, which differs from the fact that I think their football and baseball coverage sucks! The others- well, I have said that the coverage was pretty generic. Nobody's doing anything real special.

You all seem to have a point of view. If I could hand you a headset and give you carte blanche to do a race broadcast, how would you do it?

I've already said I'm a FOX fan- I think Joy, Hammond, Waltrip and Mc Reynolds are a good mix.

I will also add that I think Kyle Petty and Dale Jarrett are ood in the booth and should consider a switch.

Rusty's o.k., but brings nothing outstanding to the party. Punch is a solid play-by-play man. Dale E's old crew chief is pretty solid I suppose.

The ESPN track reporters handle themselves well.

In the studio- I'm not real impressed by the ESPN team. A mixture of a lack of product knowledge and just generally weak.

  • What?????Peace between Robby and Marcos????

I about fell off my chair when I heard that Robby Gordon is offering the #77 to Marcos Ambrose to run in the race at Watkins Glen.

Wow! Folks, you just don't see this kind of thing in other sports. I give Gordon props for offering it.

Do you think this is cool?

  • Has anyone gone out on a Saturday night to the local dirt track to watch a race?

We did last night. The kids had a great time. We run pro stocks, modifieds and dwarfs here.

Great time. Takes a lot of skill to negotiate a short oval track on dirt. The kids loved it. I'm still picking dirt out of my ears.

  • Why does Busch driver Morgan Shepherd always go out after 20 laps? Lack of running money?

I watch him with curiosity as a 65-year-old driver is quite a novelty.
