  • have i eaten too much/ too little today?

    13 year old girl, i do ballet today for an hour and then i go cycling twice and swimming throughout the week, is what i'm eating good? what could i improve etc... also i drink 3 litres of water throughout the day...

    breakfast: 1 shredded wheat and a half with 200ml semi skimmed milk and a chewy multi vitamin.

    snack: 100g gala apple, blueberries and half a cantalopue melon.

    lunch: 1 wholemeal granary roll with 2 slices of lean roast chicken, sliced cucumber and tomato.

    snack : 2 weetabix with 100ml semi skimmed milk (i don't usually have a afternoon snack but i have ballet today so i need energy :D)

    ~ballet for an hour~

    dinner: 100g fresh green pasta (i normally have fresh multigrain pasta or wholewheat- i don't eat white pasta's/breads etc..) with 30g lighter mature cheddar cheese, 100g ragu tomato and basil pasta sauce and a lot of broccoli :D

  • is what i'm eating today healthy?

    heya, i'm a 13 year old girl, is what i'm doing/ eating today good? and what could i add/substitute/change... (btw i drink 3 litres of water a day)

    Breakfast: 1 and a half shredded wheat with 150ml semi skimmed milk, a chewy multivitamin and some galia melon.

    snack: frozen Blueberries (60g)

    lunch: heinz reduced sugar and salt baked beans (the snap pot sized ones) on top of a slice of warburtons wholemeal bread (medium sliced) with 30g grated reduced fat mature white cheddar cheese.

    -then i went cycling for 45 minutes around my local park/area-

    snack: 60g frozen grapes (i really like to eat frozen fruit :D)

    dinner: portion of grilled cod (normally around 100g) with a large amount of broccoli (i love broccoli- i eat it everyday :L) also 100g 0f fresh spinach tagliatelle (the only types of pasta i eat are multigrain,wholewheat or the spinach tagliatelle) and 30g reduced fat mature white cheddar cheese.

  • do i have a healthy daily diet?

    heya, i'm a 13 year old girl, i was wondering if i eat healthy- heres what i ate today:

    breakfast: 1 and a half shredded wheat with 150ml semi skimmed milk, a chewy multivitamin and 60g of blueberries.

    snack: medium red gala and a 150ml glass of semi skimmed milk

    Lunch: 2 slices of warburtons wholemeal bread with some lean roast chicken, large sliced salad tomato and cucumber.

    snack: piece of fruit (normally a plum/or some melon etc...)

    dinner: wholegrain fresh egg pasta with some canned tomatos (sometimes i have normal tomato dolmio, or homemade sauces) also LOTS of broccoli (its my fave veg :D) - i only ever have wholegrain, wholewheat pasta, i don't ever have white, sometimes i mix in some fresh spinach egg pasta with wholegrain...

    i do ballet for a hour a week, dance class at school for half an hour, swimming once sometimes twice a week and cycling twice maybe 3 times a week- also i do gymnastics for 2 hours on a saturday.

    also, i LOVE pasta- i have it nearly every day for dinner is that ok? i have a variety of sauces like veg, quorn bolognaise etc...

    and the reason why i have so much milk is because i do not like cheese (but i have it in pasta sauces and on pizza) and i am not too fond of yogurt.

  • is this diet healthy?

    hey, i'm a 13 year old girl- i do gymnastics and ballet, is what i'm eating today healthy?

    breakfast (7:30am)- 1 shredded wheat with 200ml 1%fat milk, 64g of Blueberries and a Chewy multivitamin with a glass of water.

    snack (10:45am)- strawberry yogurt (just a normal fruity one, not reduced fat or anything) and a medium sized gala apple with a glass of water.

    (during the rest of the day i drink 2 more litres of water)

    lunch (1:15pm)- wholegrain granary roll with 2 slices of lean roast chicken and tomato and cucumber

    (i don't normally have a afternoon snack but today i had ballet so i needed to have something)

    snack (4:45pm)- 2 shredded wheat and 200ml 1%fat milk

    ~ballet at 6 for 1 hour~

    dinner (7:15pm)- 2 egg whites on 2 pieces of high bran toast with piece of fruit

    I would normally have more veg in a day, but thats just what i had that day, also could i have some suggestions for healthy dinners/lunches? and good snacks for before ballet, thankyou! :)

    snack: honeydew melon, apple and plum

    lunch: tomato and cucumber sandwhich (using 2 slices of high bran bread) and a activia Raspberry 0%fat yogurt

    snack: Satsuma

    dinner: Cod in tomato and basil sauce, a lot of broccolli and green beans and slice of high bran bread.

    any ideas etc... for food to add would be helpfull- thankyou! :)

    snack:melon, blueberries and kiwi

    lunch: 2 slices of high bran bread and 1 poached egg white, 3 small tomatos

    dinner: wholewheat noodles with veg (green beans,broccolli etc...)

    is this food healthy? food ideas for meals would help too- i'm a pasta addict and me and my family are always trying to find different foods for me and failing as i'm kind of fussy :p

  • do the nutritional values of pasta change when cooked in water?

    i am having pasta for my lunch and on the packet (it is wheat and oat pasta) it says 50g will change to 115g when cooked- will the callories/fat etc.. go up when i cook it?? or stay the same?

    Yesterday: Multigrain hoops 116 calories,grapes,small bowl of pasta with veg.

    Today: Multigrain hoops 116 calories, 10 calorie jelly,apple,strawberries, cereal bar 89 calories,small spoonfull of pasta, cucumber 2 mouthfulls of chocolate cake.
