Is the only advantage that you don't have to buy your ticket at a machine?

I use BART maybe once a month so I don't really care about saving the 90 seconds it will take me to buy a ticket so is that really like the only advantage?

If there is no fare discount I'd rather just pay as I use BART than have money loaded on a card that I might end up never using, loosing, or forgetting about but is there some other advantage that I'm missing?

Note: I never ride Caltrain, Muni, or any of the other transits the card is good for so relate this to BART only

It looks like it should be obvious but I don't understand how you can fill in the blanks when there's no specific adjustments being given to you?

All that's in the screenshot is all the information provided for the problem -- I just don't see how this is completed; any help on this?
