  • How to stay calm during a driving test?? With autism/adhd?

I'm in the process of being diagnosed with high functioning autism or/and adhd. I'm also learning to drive, I have been driving for nearly a year and a half in my own car but I've only had professional driving lessons for a couple of months. My instructor says I'm a really good driver but he's worried that I'll fail my test because I can't keep my hands still/on the wheel. I don't drive dangerously (I always have one hand on the wheel and the other hand ready in case of an emergency.) I've never been in a crash but I have had a few close calls (most weren't my fault and I handled it correctly according to my instructor) but I get really nervous in tests and around new people and when I get nervous I fidget around a lot more, I also find it harder to concentrate cos there's too much going on, and in a test there's a lot I could get nervous about (other stupid drivers on the road, worrying about whether I'll pass or not, not to mention the compete stranger sat right next to me watching my every move!!!).

I've not told my instructor about my autism/adhd but he might've guessed if he knows anything about it cos I do show a lot of signs when I'm nervous (but he's not said anything)

I'm just wondering is there anything I can do to make myself calmer and more focused during my driving test in a couple of months??

  • Colour of budgies??

So I've asked this question a couple of weeks ago but I didn't get a good answer.

So I've got a pair of budgies who've mated and laid 6 eggs. The first one hatched yesterday. The male is basically completely white but has a couple of tiny blue smudges on his chest and wings. The female is blue and white with tiny amounts of black/grey on her wings. I don't know their genes cos I got them both from a pet shop. The baby has red eyes and I've heard that means it'll be a lutino (yellow or white).

Just wondering what COULD the colours be?? (Not asking for definites!!)

  • Is my mum being too overprotective?

So I'm 18 and I need to go to the shops to buy food for my birds and my mum isn't letting me go because to get there you have to walk along a pathway going by a stream which doesn't have many people walking down there. And she thinks I'm gonna get raped or murdered!! I've been down there loads before both alone and with other people (I usually wouldn't ask her cos she always says no and she usually never finds out but she's right by the front door so I can't get out of the house!!). Nothing has ever happened to me or anyone else down there as far as I know and it's not even that long, maybe a 5-10 minute walk. For some reason she's let me go worse places before, like I had to walk to and from school for over an hour each way, everyday, and during the winter it was dark, and then I was 11-15 years old!! She also let me get the train and take a 40 minute journey into a higher crime rated area (one of the highest in my country!!) to and from college every week!!! But she won't let me walk down this path just to go to the shops!! And what makes me more annoyed is that when she was my age she was a mum herself, she'd bought her own house and everything and I'm not allowed to go to the shops by myself!!!

Am I being unreasonable or is she being overprotective??

And what should I do my birds need food or they'll die and they're nesting eggs at the minute so they need extra food!!
