get a second cell phone?
hi there! currently i'm using a blackberry tour for personal and some business use. currently i do a lot of volunteer and community work, so i pass out my number when needed. however, i rarely get long calls or many of them, mainly email, so i don't mind it. i created a non-personal email address for this sort of stuff, so that's not an issue at all.
i decided to work for my family's non-profit organization and i know that i'm going to be doing a lot of work there where people need to get a hold of me. at the moment we have 10 board members and they all have the option of getting a business phone. my first task is to ask the board members whether they'd like to use their personal phone for business as well and i'm in the process of deciding whether i need one or not. there are definitely bonuses in having another phone, but at the same time it seems there are some cons. i've asked friends and other colleagues for their opinion and didn't get much help. here's what i have so far:
PROS:
- i can have separate numbers: one for personal/everyday life and the other business. this way, i can separate my business life from my personal life. i like to be able to live my personal life and not have my business work interfere with it
- i can choose not to answer the business phone during off-work hours
- not really a pro's, but anytime i answer the phone i always just say "hello". my mom says it's not very business-like, so i guess if i have a second line, i would know if it's a business call and be able to answer properly.
- i would be able to have my work pay for my work phone and i would have the ability to not have to hassle flipping through the my bill to deduct the business calls
CONS:
- i would have to carry 2 phones with me. when i run errands, i don't like carrying a purse with me. at most, i have my cell phone and wallet and i'm out the door. if i have 2 phones, i'd have to take that with me as well
- i don't want to be wasteful, so if i don't get a lot of calls on my business phone i would feel like i am so. i also don't like to hassle with having 2 phones
i guess there are more pro's than con's and so i might have the answer already, but i'd still like your opinion. so, in your honest and helpful opinion, should i get a separate cellphone for this or should i stick it out and use my personal for business as well? please give me your honest opinion and thoughts or any suggestions on what i should do. thanks!!

anyone do custom knit sweaters in LA?
Hi there! My grandaunt had a knit sweater that she absolutely adored and unfortunately it was washed and it shrunk. It was literally her favorite sweater and she's had it for years and it's like a security blanket for her. I've been looking for a knit sweater, but nothing matched her expectations. I was wondering if you know of anyone in Los Angeles that knits custom sweaters? It needs to be a specific design, that's why I'm looking for someone in person to custom make it. Please, I'm in real need of some help. I don't know how to knit and this is my grandaunts favorite sweater. If anyone knows of anyone that can knit for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks and have a great new year!
